This is an event held on the occasion of the 95th Anniversary of the Founding of the Hanoi City Party Committee (March 17, 1930 - March 17, 2025).

At the press conference, Editor-in-Chief of Economic and Urban Newspaper Nguyen Thanh Loi - Head of the Organizing Committee said: The 1st Economic and Urban Newspaper Pickleball Tournament - 2025 aims to promote the movement, develop the sport of Pickleball in Hanoi, create opportunities for Pickleball lovers to compete, share their passion for Pickleball as well as connect social relationships and fans of the new sport of Pickleball.

Thereby encouraging sports practice and improving health; contributing to the development of the sports movement in general and Pickleball in particular. At the same time, promoting the brand of Kinh te va Do thi Newspaper to readers.

The 1st Pickleball Tournament of Kinh te va Do thi Newspaper - 2025 is expected to gather about 500 amateur and professional athletes, taking place from March 14 to March 16, at the Pickleball Court Complex of the Center for Culture - Information - Sports and Tourism of Cau Giay District.

The drawing ceremony will take place on March 6 at the headquarters of the Economic and Urban Newspaper.

According to the regulations of the Organizing Committee, the participants of the tournament are Vietnamese and international athletes who are legally living, working and traveling in Vietnam, have full capacity to perform civil acts, and are not serving a sentence or having legal obligations as prescribed.

The 1st Economic and Urban Newspaper Pickleball Tournament - 2025 includes 10 competition events:

- Amateur men's doubles under 40 years old (born in 1986 or later)

- Amateur men's doubles over 40 years old (born in 1985 or earlier)

- Amateur women's doubles under 35 years old (born in 1991 or later)

- Amateur women's pairs over 35 years old (born in 1990 or earlier)

- Amateur mixed doubles under 35 years old (born in 1991 or later)

- Amateur men's and women's pairs over 35 years old (born in 1990 or earlier)

- Men's Open Doubles

- Mixed Doubles Open

- Women's Open Doubles

- Men's Singles Open

According to the regulations of the Organizing Committee, in the women's doubles event, athletes who are national masters, coaches of pickleball, tennis, table tennis, badminton are not allowed to participate in the movement event; pickleball athletes who have won first and second prizes and are over 17 years old in the events at the National Club Cup Pickleball Championship; VVP tour system, VNtimes; athletes who have won international prizes or have a PICKLEBALL VIETNAM score of 3.5+ are not allowed to participate in the movement event.

In men's doubles and mixed doubles with male athletes: National masters are not allowed to participate in grassroots events; pickleball players who have won first and second prizes and are over 17 years old in events at the National Club Cup Pickleball Championship; VVP tour system, VNtimes ND Open; athletes who have won international prizes or have a PICKLEBALL VIETNAM score of 3.5+ are not allowed to participate in grassroots events.

The professional council will consider the individual level and competition history of each athlete and make specific decisions.

Regarding the competition format, based on the number of athletes, the Organizing Committee will choose the appropriate competition method at the time of the tournament.

Round robin grouping: 1 set of 11 points, 6 points for change of field. From quarter-finals to semi-finals, 1 set of 15 points. Finals, 1 set of 15 points. The order of calculation when there are equal points in the group is to calculate the difference first, then the head-to-head.

The tournament applies the competition rules according to the USAP format.

About the prize structure:

- With the content of the Movement , the award structure includes:

+ Champion: 5 million VND + trophy + prize (if any)

+ Second Prize: 3 million VND + trophy + prize (if any)

+ Third Prize: 2 million VND + trophy + prize (if any)

- With the content of Men's Open Doubles :

+ Champion: 15 million VND + trophy + prize (if any)

+ Second Prize: 7 million VND + trophy + prize (if any)

+ Third place: 5 million VND + trophy + prize (if any)

- With the content of Women's Open Doubles :

+ Champion: 15 million VND + trophy + prize (if any)
