After nearly 6 years of implementation, the One Commune One Product (OCOP) Program in the province has increasingly spread widely, contributing to unleashing the potential of localities. Understanding the practical benefits of the OCOP Program, many organizations and individuals in the province have proactively participated, actively invested in production development, improved product quality to be newly recognized and re-recognized when the term expires. Realizing that the implementation of the OCOP Program is an opportunity to boost agricultural production, in recent times, Kon Tum city has actively mobilized, encouraged and guided cooperatives and enterprises to participate in the program. At the same time, support for entities to develop a variety of new products and upgrade and improve the design and quality of recognized products to be re-evaluated and upgraded. In addition, the city has also increased promotion and expanded the market for OCOP products. Since then, the subjects have increasingly seen the benefits and values that the OCOP program brings, and have actively participated. To date, the locality has had 91 products recognized as OCOP products at the city and provincial levels. Although the products meet the export conditions, but clearly aware that participating in the OCOP program is also a way to promote and affirm product quality to gradually develop stronger, in recent times, Kon Tum Salanganes Nest Company Limited has actively participated in the program. To date, the Company has 6 OCOP products that have been recognized. Recently, at the second evaluation and classification of provincial OCOP products in 2024, the Company continued to have 3 more products participating in the first classification and 2 products re-evaluated.

Mr. Dang Xuan Hung - Director of Kon Tum Salanganes Nest Company Limited said: OCOP star rating is proof of quality for products to enter the market, building trust with consumers. Moreover, through each round of participating in the evaluation and classification of OCOP products, the Company also receives advice and suggestions from functional agencies, from which, it continues to decide on appropriate investments to standardize products, meeting the requirements of the domestic and export markets. Seeing the value of OCOP certification in improving the competitiveness of products in the market, since starting production, Kon Tum Cordyceps Mushroom Cultivation Cooperative (Kon Tum city) has focused on developing products according to the standards of the OCOP program. Mr. Doan Quoc Anh Khoi - Director of Kon Tum Cordyceps Cultivation Cooperative said: With the support of the authorities, the Cooperative has 3 products ranked as 3-star OCOP at the provincial level including: dried Cordyceps, Cordyceps honey supplement and Cordyceps wine supplement. After being recognized, the Cooperative continues to invest in upgrading both the quality and quantity of the products to participate in the classification and be recognized again in 2025. According to the assessment of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, in the past time, the OCOP Program has been organized and implemented relatively synchronously from the provincial level to the grassroots level; has been creating momentum for the start-up, innovation and creativity movement in the field of agriculture and rural areas; attracting many participants. By the end of 2024, the whole province will have 249 OCOP products with 3 stars or more that are still valid, of which 1 product has 5 stars, 8 potential 5-star products are being proposed to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development for classification, 19 products have 4 stars and 221 products have 3 stars; basically achieving the plan target for the period 2021 - 2025.

From being apprehensive, many enterprises, cooperatives, and production households in the province have proactively participated in the OCOP program. Not only stopping at developing and participating in the classification of new products, a notable point recently is that many subjects have been more active and interested in participating in re-evaluating OCOP products that have expired their recognition period (36 months) in order to maintain and upgrade their star ratings. For example, in 2024, the Provincial OCOP Product Evaluation and Classification Council organized 2 evaluation rounds for 16 products of enterprises and cooperatives in the province. Of which, up to 7 products were submitted by subjects to participate in the re-evaluation and classification. Thanks to the focus on investment, these products are highly appreciated for their quality and design. Products meeting OCOP standards are not only a brand certification but also an assessment and recognition by state management agencies of product quality and the subject producing the product from specialties and advantages in rural areas. From there, it helps the product have conditions and opportunities to expand the market; create motivation for the subject to invest, improve the capacity of production and business organization, contribute to increasing the profits of enterprises, cooperatives and income for workers.
