Surveyed 2,837 students, selected 980 students for grade 6

On the morning of June 15, Thu Duc City (HCMC) officially conducted a survey for 6th grade admission at 3 secondary schools. With 2,837 students participating in the survey, 3 schools will select 980 students for 6th grade.

According to Thu Duc City's plan, the survey scores will be announced on June 22. From June 22 to June 23: Receive applications for review and on June 27, announce the review results and survey results.

From 8:00 a.m. on June 28 to 5:00 p.m. on July 5: Admitted students submit their admission application. After that time, if the student does not submit their admission application, the school will remove their name from the admission list.

Grade 6 quotas at schools, specifically: Tran Quoc Toan 1 Secondary School recruits 9 grade 6 classes (including at least 4 integrated English classes) with 315 students. Hoa Lu Secondary School recruits 11 grade 6 classes (including at least 2 integrated English classes) with 385 students. Binh Tho Secondary School recruits 8 grade 6 classes (including at least 3 integrated English classes) with 280 students.

The total number of applications for the survey at the 3 schools was 2,837, compared to the total enrollment target of 980 students/28 classes.

Among the three secondary schools conducting the survey for grade 6 in Thu Duc City, Hoa Lu Secondary School has the highest rate of candidates submitting application documents for the survey. Mr. Nguyen Thai Vinh Nguyen, Head of the Department of Education and Training of Thu Duc City, said that as of June 2, the number of applications for each school was as follows:

Tran Quoc Toan 1 Secondary School: The number of applications received is 1,025, the enrollment target is 315 students/9 classes. Hoa Lu Secondary School: The number of applications received is 1,116, the enrollment target is 385 students/11 classes. Binh Tho Secondary School: The number of applications received is 696, the enrollment target is 280 students/8 classes.

Thus, the total number of application files for the survey at the 3 schools is 2,837, compared to the total enrollment target of 980 students/28 classes.

Competency test content: Candidates take a test on the following competencies: Language (English, Vietnamese - writing); mathematics and logical thinking; natural sciences, social sciences (history - geography); application, solving practical problems. Format: Includes multiple choice and essay sections. Multiple choice section: Candidates take a test of 20 multiple choice questions in English on understanding natural sciences, social sciences and application, solving practical problems within 30 minutes.

Essay section: Candidates take a 60-minute test, including: English proficiency test: reading comprehension, writing. Candidates take the test in English.

Test of mathematical and logical thinking ability, reading comprehension and writing ability. Candidates take the test in Vietnamese.

The time limit for all sections of the survey is 90 minutes.
