Phu Yen is the land of Phu - the sky Yen located in the center of the South Central Coast region, with many favorable conditions to attract domestic and international tourists. Phu Yen has diverse and rich tourism resources, especially sea and island tourism resources, including many beautiful bays, lagoons; fine white sand beaches, clear blue sea water... very favorable for sea resort tourism. Phu Yen also has many beautiful mountain and forest landscapes such as Da Bia Mountain, Deo Ca Pass, Van Hoa Plateau, creating a diverse and rich tourism picture.
Coming to Phu Yen is coming to the "heritage land", prominent are the heritages associated with the cultures: Sa Huynh, Champa, Dai Viet such as An Tho citadel, Ho citadel, heritages associated with the names of generals, historical figures in the journey of building and defending the country of the nation.
In recent years, Phu Yen tourism has seen many improvements. In 2023, Phu Yen province welcomed more than 3.1 million visitors, with revenue of more than 4,700 billion VND. Tourism has initially made positive contributions to the province's socio-economy; creating jobs for workers, and changing the urban, rural, and environmental landscapes significantly. With its potential and unique values, Phu Yen is orienting to develop tourism into a key economic sector by 2030, a green, clean, safe, attractive, and friendly destination for tourists.
The 2024 Culture - Tourism Week took place from March 30 to April 5. On the opening night, artists from Sao Bien Folk Song and Dance Theater, Phu Yen province and famous singers such as Tung Duong, Vu Quoc Viet... presented to the people and tourists the art program "Phu Yen Convergence and Development". The art program consisted of 3 chapters: "Epic Song", "Phu Yen Rendezvous" and "Passionate Phu Yen"... The vibrant art program introduced to the audience the unique features of Phu Yen land and people, resilient in the revolutionary struggle, rich in cultural traditions and beautiful and attractive images of Phu Yen today.
During the 2024 Culture - Tourism Week, people and tourists will be able to visit and enjoy intangible cultural heritages combined with unique traditional costume performances, Trade and Tourism Fair, Phu Yen Band Competition, Tuy Hoa Colorful Art Show, Beer Festival and Ocean Tuna Cuisine... In particular, the 65th National Marathon and Long Distance Championship organized by Tien Phong Newspaper gathered more than 11,000 athletes and thousands of fans and tourists.
Mr. Dao My, Vice Chairman of Phu Yen Provincial People's Committee said: "With the theme "Returning to Phu Yen Heritage Land", we not only wish to turn this event into a large-scale cultural and tourism activity, aiming to build a unique tourism product. Phu Yen also wishes and requests close coordination between the Central and local levels; between sectors, levels and businesses; communities with heritage and tourists to join hands to preserve, introduce, promote, exploit and develop Phu Yen heritage in a sustainable, responsible and effective manner".
According to the Vietnam Tourism Development Strategy to 2020, vision to 2030, the South Central Coast will be a key tourist area with outstanding characteristics of marine tourism associated with cultural space and marine ecology. In which, Phu Yen and other coastal cities will become one of the national and regional tourist centers.
Mr. Hoang Dao Cuong - Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism suggested that in order to develop tourism in depth and effectively, Phu Yen needs to invest in upgrading infrastructure serving tourism, especially the transportation system connecting tourist areas and spots. Continue to have mechanisms and policies to support tourism businesses in the province, attract potential investment, promote national cultural identity associated with sustainable tourism development, especially need to prioritize focusing on promoting the potential and competitive advantages of Phu Yen province, transforming resource values into unique factors to attract tourists, creating competitive advantages and strengths such as geoparks associated with the heritage of Da Dia reef, Da Bia mountain... Exploiting the value of natural space in the western region of the province such as Van Hoa plateau, Song Hinh area to create product differences with the sea space. Develop eco-experience tourism, develop green tourism, agricultural and rural tourism associated with community tourism services.
Mr. Hoang Dao Cuong suggested: "Building unique and attractive quality tourism products, focusing on linking tourism with other industries in the value chain associated with green and sustainable development according to the motto of taking the experience of tourists as the center. From this event, Phu Yen tourism will promote and honor the beauty of the homeland associated with promoting its unique cultural heritage. These are unique products, professional services, convenient and simple procedures, competitive environmental prices, clean and beautiful hygiene, safe, civilized and friendly destinations".
