(Fatherland) - On November 24, 2024, a working delegation of the Vietnam National Institute of Culture and Arts Studies - VICAS led by Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thi Thu Phuong had a working session with Mr. Xavier-Romaric Saumon - Director of the Versailles Grand Parc Music Society (France) within the framework of a research trip to implement the State-level scientific project on "Development of art in Vietnam to 2030, vision to 2045".
Also attending the working delegation were Ms. Tran Hai Van - Deputy Director of the Department of International Cooperation (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism), research experts of the Institute and representatives of the Vietnam Cultural Center in France.
At the meeting, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thi Thu Phuong thanked Mr. Saumon for taking the time to receive the delegation and affirmed that art education, including music, is one of the fundamental solutions to develop Vietnamese art, especially classical music, which has a history of influence from French culture.
She expressed her hope that the delegation's working trip as well as the working program at the Versailles Conservatory will not only open up opportunities for exchange between artists of the two countries but also promote academic and research exchanges to contribute to creating policies suitable for the development of Vietnamese music.
Ms. Tran Hai Van - Deputy Director of the Department of International Cooperation emphasized that cooperation in the field of arts is one of the priorities of the two countries' Ministries of Culture, as shown in the Cultural Cooperation Program for the period 2024-2028 between the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam and the Ministry of Culture of France signed within the framework of the official State visit of General Secretary and President To Lam to France last October, and at the same time practically implementing the Project of the Vietnamese Government on training and fostering the development of Vietnamese artistic talents abroad.
Ms. Tran Hai Van also took this opportunity to thank the Versailles Conservatory for its support and active participation in the recent art exchange activities celebrating the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-France diplomatic relations, with impressive choral performances by the Conservatory's students with Vietnamese folk songs, leaving a deep impression in the hearts of the audience./.
