Admitted to the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists in Hung Yen

(NADS) - On February 26, at the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Hung Yen province, the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists of Hung Yen province celebrated the 71st anniversary of Vietnam Photography Traditional Day (March 15, 1953 - March 15, 2024) and presented the decision to admit new members.

Attending the event were: Artist Ho Sy Minh, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists, Editor-in-Chief of Photography and Life Magazine; Comrade Nguyen Khac Hao, former Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Hung Yen Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Union of Science and Technology Associations of Hung Yen Province; representatives of the Organizing Committee of the Emulation of Members, the Exhibition Creation Committee of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists; leaders of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Hung Yen Province.

71 years ago, on March 15, 1953, President Ho Chi Minh signed Decree No. 147/SL on the establishment of the Vietnam State-owned Cinema and Photography Enterprise. Since then, March 15 has become the traditional day of the Vietnamese Cinema and Photography industry.

NSNA-NB Ho Sy Minh spoke highly of the activities of the Hung Yen NSNA Association.

This year, the Hung Yen Association of Photographic Artists organized an early ceremony and combined it with the admission ceremony for new members. The Hung Yen Association of Vietnamese Photographic Artists has had many outstanding achievements in the past year, with many members winning high awards. Although many members are old, they still create regularly, have a spirit of solidarity, and help young photographers with great potential. In the past 3 years, the association has introduced and admitted 2 quality members, far exceeding the standard score.

This is a branch with a small number of members (10 artists) but has 5 special features: 2 new members have PhD degrees; 4 members are veterans and war invalids; 2 members are writers; most members are leaders or former leaders; and there is 1 family of 3 artists. Many photographers of the province have had many works participating in domestic and international art photography festivals launched by the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists. This is a branch with high-quality activities, with many achievements in creating, introducing, and promoting the image of Hung Yen to friends at home and abroad.

On this occasion, the leaders of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists presented the decision to admit members and confer the title of A.VAPA in 2023 to Dr. and poet Nguyen Khac Hao, former Standing Deputy Secretary of the Hung Yen Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Union of Science and Technology Associations of Hung Yen Province. With the achievements of joining the Association of 13 Gold Medals, 2 Silver Medals and 4 Bronze Medals, many works exhibited in domestic and international competitions with a total score of 268 points. He was awarded the title of talented photographer by the Bangladesh Photographers Association and admitted to the Bangladesh Photographers Association.
