iPhone 15 Pro will be 10% lighter but have longer battery life

According to Firstpost , in his latest report, Bloomberg writer Mark Gurman pointed out a notable change: switching from stainless steel to titanium for the iPhone 15 Pro's frame has helped the overall weight of the device to be lighter, while also making the appearance more attractive.

iPhone 15 Pro battery life lasts longer despite 10% lighter weight

Gurman believes that the iPhone 15 Pro models will be around 10% lighter than their predecessors. Notably, the weight reduction will not affect battery life thanks to the performance improvements brought by the new A17 Bionic chip. This goes against Apple's recent trend of making thicker and heavier iPhones to accommodate larger batteries. While the thickness may not change significantly, the 10% weight reduction is noticeable. Furthermore, the A17 Bionic chip's 3nm manufacturing process is said to help improve battery life.

The A17 Bionic chip also helps the iPhone 15 Pro models maintain a performance advantage, a strategy Apple has pursued in recent years. While the iPhone 15 Pro models have a faster A17 Bionic chip and even more RAM, the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus retain last year's A16 Bionic chip.

As a result, the battery life on the iPhone 15 Pro could be several hours longer than the current iPhone 14 Pro, which is said to have up to 23 hours of video playback. Real-world usage often falls short of this maximum. Some users have expressed concerns about the iPhone 14 series having poor battery life compared to previous generations, so any new improvements to the iPhone 15 Pro's battery life would be welcome.
