A19 Bionic is expected to appear only in 2025 on the iPhone 17 series

The information about the A19 Bionic and M5 (including Pro/Max/Ultra variants) was shared by a user on X named @_orangera1n, where he shared some details related to the development process of the new chips. According to the report, the A19 Bionic is the chip expected to come to the iPhone 17 series that Apple will launch in 2025. The A16 Bionic chip currently on the iPhone 14 Pro comes with 16 billion transistors and the number of transistors will increase on the A17 Bionic on the iPhone 15 Pro due to being manufactured on the 3nm process.

The report suggests that the A19 Bionic will be Apple's first chip to be built on a 2nm process. In theory, the chip promises faster performance and improved energy efficiency thanks to smaller transistors, allowing for increased transistor density.

According to the report, development work on the A18 Bionic that will be on the iPhone 16 series next year has also been completed.

In addition to the A19 Bionic, the report claims that Apple is developing the M5 chip for future Macs. Apple is expected to launch the first M3-powered Macs, which suggests the potential for M5-powered Macs to be released around the time of the iPhone 17.
