The People's Committee of Quang Nam province has just issued Decision No. 2802/QD-UBND approving the project aid funded by the Kuwait Red Crescent Society (IFRC) with a total implementation capital of more than 9.3 billion VND to support the construction of new fishing boats for fishermen in Thang Binh district to practice seafood exploitation (squid fishing).
The project has a total implementation capital of more than 9.3 billion VND, of which IFRC provides non-refundable aid of more than 7.5 billion VND, equivalent to 300,000 USD, and local counterpart capital of more than 1.8 billion VND. The implementation period is from November 2024 to November 2027 in Thang Binh district, Quang Nam province.

The project aims to support the construction of new fishing boats for fishermen in Thang Binh district, Quang Nam province. The boats are built with wooden hull materials with hull dimensions: Lmax: 24.50m, Bmax: 7.25m, D: 3.20m, total main engine capacity: 822 CV (horsepower), number of main engines: 01 engine to help fishermen practice seafood exploitation (squid fishing).
IFRC is an international non-governmental organization, operating in Vietnam since 1990 in the fields of risk reduction, prevention, relief and recovery after disasters, climate change adaptation, health and social security.
Currently, IFRC has been coordinating with central and local organizations in activities related to management and support for people affected by natural disasters, clean water and sanitation, security and safety, housing, livelihoods, health care and disease prevention.
