Van Don District: Unleashing the people's creative resources and potential

Diversifying forms of gathering, propagating, mobilizing, uniting people of all walks of life, promoting the strength of great solidarity of ethnic groups is identified by the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Van Don district as a key task, thereby contributing to building an increasingly developed locality.

“Bridge” creates social consensus

In its role as a bridge between the Party, the State and the people, in recent times, the Fatherland Front of Van Don district has focused on improving the effectiveness of propaganda, mobilization, and gathering people of all walks of life, in order to consolidate and promote the strength of the great national unity bloc. Through diverse and rich forms of propaganda and mobilization, the Fatherland Front of Van Don district has contributed to raising awareness and creating consensus among people of all walks of life in the area.

Van Don District Fatherland Front grants support funds to near-poor households in Binh Dan commune.

In particular, the implementation of the Project on innovation of propaganda work of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (2019-2024 period) in the system of the Fatherland Front from the district to the communes and towns in Van Don has been effective. Specifically, the construction of fanpages of the Fatherland Front at all levels and more than 100 zalo groups, organizing many activities to improve the quality and effectiveness of the work, such as: Connecting online discussions from the province to the commune with more than 400 delegates attending to guide and exchange solutions to improve the quality of propaganda on the community page; mobilizing participation in the "Beautiful fanpage photo" contest at the provincial level; organizing training conferences to guide the management and operation of the page facebook The community of the Fatherland Front from district to grassroots, shares some experiences in building and developing fanpage...

To date, the page facebook The Fatherland Front community at all levels in the district has posted and shared over 5,800 news and articles with rich and diverse content, attracting a large number of people to participate, gradually becoming one of the information channels, quickly and effectively conveying policies and orientations for local socio-economic development.

Support house repair for households in difficult circumstances in Dong Xa commune (Van Don district).

In order to gain the people's solidarity and participation in implementing the socio-economic development tasks of the district, especially in site clearance work, since the policy of upgrading and expanding traffic routes was issued, the Vietnam Fatherland Front and mass organizations have worked with the locality to organize visits to each household to propagate. After being propagated and mobilized, people's awareness has been raised and they have agreed to hand over the site to ensure project progress. Typical projects include: Van Don - Mong Cai Expressway; Van Don Industrial Park; the road connecting Van Don 3 Bridge to the resettlement area of Doan Ket commune...

Van Don district is the locality with the largest aquaculture area in the province. Implementing the policy of converting environmentally safe materials in aquaculture, the Fatherland Front at all levels, together with the locality, has actively promoted and mobilized people to convert farming materials according to local technical standards. Thanks to that, up to now, the district has basically completed the conversion of styrofoam buoys to HDPE plastic buoys. Thereby contributing to protecting the marine environment and regenerating aquatic resources.

Spreading campaigns and emulation movements

One of the outstanding results of connecting and gathering the strength of national solidarity is the implementation of the movement "The whole country joins hands for the poor - leaving no one behind". Accordingly, the district Fatherland Front has chaired the launch of the Peak Month for the Poor to call for and arouse the hearts of compassion to join hands to help the poor and people in difficult circumstances in the area.

Van Don residents agree to switch to using floating materials in aquaculture according to local technical standards.

During the period of 2019-2024, the Fund for the Poor at all levels in the district mobilized and received over 3.8 billion VND. Of which, support for new construction, house repair, production development support, medical examination and treatment support, support for students from poor and near-poor households with an amount of over 1 billion VND. Mr. Tran Van Ba (Dai Van village, Dai Xuyen commune, Van Don district) is a poor household, has an unstable job, and daily income mainly depends on agriculture. Mr. Ba said that in 2023, his family was selected by the district Fatherland Front to support building a house with an amount of 50 million VND, and with the help of relatives, his family was able to build a solid house worth 200 million VND. Having a new house, the family is very excited. This is the motivation for the family to encourage each other to strive to stabilize their lives.

Along with that, the Fatherland Front at all levels of the district and its member organizations have effectively implemented the emulation movement "Solidarity, creativity, productivity improvement, quality, efficiency and international integration" associated with comprehensive digital transformation according to Resolution No. 09-NQ/TU of the Provincial Party Standing Committee integrated into the emulation movement "Skilled mass mobilization". The emulation movements of socio-political organizations, typically: "Good workers, creative workers", "Good enterprises", "Cultural agencies"; "5 no, 3 clean" associated with the model "Green Sunday"; "Farmers compete in good production and business" ... have contributed to arousing the spirit of creativity and working solutions among union members, members, workers and people of all walks of life, actively contributing to the implementation of the socio-economic development goals of the locality.

The Fatherland Front and local mass organizations have mobilized people to agree to carry out socio-economic development tasks of the district, including moving passenger watercraft from Cai Rong port to Ao Tien high-class port.

The relief work was actively participated in by the Vietnam Fatherland Front, member organizations, all levels, sectors and people in the district with a mobilized amount of more than 3 billion VND, thereby promptly sharing the difficulties and losses with compatriots and people nationwide, in the province and district, helping the elderly in difficulty, supporting people when facing natural disasters and accidents...

With the achieved results, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees at all levels and member organizations of Van Don district have clearly demonstrated their core role in building and promoting the great national unity bloc to successfully implement the goals and tasks of economic - cultural - social development, maintaining security and national defense, contributing to building Van Don to develop more and more sustainably.
