British golf legend wins HIO in Vietnam

At the par3 13th hole at Vinpearl Golf Nha Trang, after a beautiful swing, legendary golfer Malcolm MacKenzie sent the ball 189 yards and straight into the hole, to the admiration of onlookers.

During his illustrious career, MacKenzie played mainly on the European Tour and won the 2002 Novotel Perrier Open de France.

On the first day of the official round of Vinpearl DIC Legends Vietnam 2023 (November 30), MacKenzie only scored +7, had 8 bogeys and 1 birdie. On the second day (December 1), the 62-year-old golfer had 7 bogeys after the first 12 holes. However, he created a shining moment when he got HIO at hole 13, which he took 4 strokes to complete the previous day.

Sharing his feelings after becoming the owner of the HIO award, Malcolm MacKenzie said: “ I love watching football. When you watch football and see your favorite player score a goal, it feels very exciting. That is also how I feel when I get HIO. I have scored about 10 HIOs in my career. This year is my lucky year”.

According to the tournament rules of Vinpearl DIC Legends Vietnam 2023, HIO is placed at holes 3 and 16, applicable to both professional and amateur athletes. The prize of 1 VinFast VF9 car is for the first person to score HIO at that golf hole.

This athlete was awarded an All-in-one vacation at Vinpearl for the whole family worth up to 250 million VND. In addition, DIC Group also gave golfer MacKenzie a vacation worth 100 million VND for 1 year at Pullman Vung Tau Hotel, part of DIC Group's resort system.
