The Dutch international is under contract with Brighton until June 2028. The Premier League are demanding a transfer fee of around £60m. In 2023, Brighton will only have to spend £17m to recruit Verbruggen from Anderlecht.

In the transfer market, Verbruggen also received attention from Bayern Munich and AC Milan. At the age of 22, Verbruggen started in the Premier League and was given the opportunity to show himself for the Netherlands national team.

Verbruggen has made 50 Premier League appearances for Brighton, including 29 this season. His maturity and great potential for development are highly appreciated by experts.

MU is serious about replacing Onana, who made a mistake in the 2-2 draw with Lyon in the first leg of the Europa League quarter-finals on April 11. Since joining MU for 47 million pounds in the summer of 2023, Onana has been a big disappointment when he has not been able to overcome the weakness of playing inconsistently for nearly 2 seasons.

Former player Paul Scholes has expressed his opinion that Onana is "not good enough" to play for MU. This has increased the pressure on Onana and the possibility that he will have to find a new destination in the near future.

MU are also in a situation where they need to act quickly to strengthen their defense before the new season begins.

Onana's 2 silly mistakes caused MU to be held to a draw. In the early morning of April 11, MU drew 2-2 away with Lyon in the first leg of the Europa League quarter-finals.
