Towards the unique and special 2nd Ninh Binh Festival

Ninh Binh is an ancient land, containing a treasure trove of unique, distinctive and rich cultural heritage. Our province has identified this as a great potential for developing diverse types of tourism to boost socio-economic development. Therefore, the work of propaganda, promotion and bringing heritage and culture closer to the public has been of interest and implemented in many forms, contributing to building and spreading the destination brand of Ninh Binh.

Recently, many cultural exchange activities and events have taken place in Ninh Binh to introduce, promote and honor the values of tangible and intangible cultural heritage, relics and scenic spots of Vietnam in general and Ninh Binh province in particular; affirming the potential for cultural tourism development, creating a strong driving force to attract resources for tourism development, enhancing the image of the country and people of Vietnam. Typically, the exhibition "Cultural Heritage Space and Traditional Craft Products" was held in Ninh Binh from mid-November 2023, organized by the Vietnam Exhibition Center for Culture and Arts in coordination with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of 15 provinces and cities across the country.

The exhibition is organized with a colorful space of cultural heritage and scenic spots of provinces and cities, focusing on introducing typical natural cultural heritages of each locality, destinations that are loved by tourists; introducing unique features of community activities; promoting the potential of eco-tourism and sustainable tourism in the locality. At the same time, introducing to the public cultural heritages, historical relics, unique festivals, typical traditional handicrafts, culinary arts, and products of each locality. In particular, during the days of the exhibition, there were activities, art programs, cultural exchanges between localities, introducing types of intangible cultural heritages of many regions and localities in the country, contributing to honoring cultural heritage, arousing love for the homeland, country, and pride in a culture imbued with national identity.

Previously, in early November 2023, at Hoa Lu Ancient Town, the Department of Culture and Sports organized the Ninh Binh Xam Singing Festival 2023. The festival attracted 20 clubs with nearly 200 actors and musicians from 10 provinces and cities across the country, and was considered a success beyond expectations, thanks to the enthusiastic, responsible and passionate participation of the actors and musicians, many of whom were quite young, leaving many beautiful impressions on the audience and tourists from all over. Attending the festival, artisans and artists performed unique performances with many rich Xam melodies, from ancient to modern, conveying their love, passion and desire to preserve the traditional art form, contributing to promoting cultural values, tourism, and bringing cultural heritage closer to people and tourists.

In 2022, the "Trang An Connecting Heritage" Festival event, held for the first time in Ninh Binh, was considered a success and received the attention, participation and encouragement of many delegations from localities nationwide and abroad as well as a large number of people and tourists. The Festival was held for the first time but left a great impression with a series of unique cultural and artistic activities, promoting the heritage and cultural values of the ancient capital. The programs at the Festival were assessed as being organized grandly, brilliantly, vibrantly, and colorfully, bringing success and satisfaction to viewers. This is also an opportunity for localities to bring their cultural heritage in regions and areas closer to people and tourists. Creating close connections and sympathy between regions and areas with heritage in joining hands to preserve, conserve, honor cultural heritages and spread them further in contemporary life. The first Ninh Binh Festival in 2022 is considered a story of connecting heritage. From Trang An heritage, we invite and connect heritages from regions and areas across the country.

Following the success of the first Ninh Binh Festival, the second Ninh Binh Festival in 2023 with the theme: "Heritage Colors - Convergence and Spread" is expected to be held in mid-December 2023. This is an important cultural and tourism event to promote cultural exchange activities, honor cultural heritages and promote tourism. Through the organization of Ninh Binh Festival 2023, it contributes to promoting the image, cultural heritage, and people of Ninh Binh province and regions across the country to domestic and international friends, serving tourism development. The organization of the Festival ensures savings, practicality, and efficiency; promotes the sense of responsibility, initiative, and creativity of each agency and unit assigned to tasks, while strengthening close coordination between agencies and units in the province and provinces and cities participating in activities within the framework of the Festival.

The 2nd Ninh Binh Festival is built with a series of unique and special cultural activities such as: The opening program is expected to be held at Trang An Scenic Area; Northern cultural heritage program; Street Dance program; Central and Southern cultural heritage program; closing program of the "Fiery Ancient Capital" Festival... Along with that are a series of events and activities such as: Ninh Binh Xam Singing Festival 2023; Exhibition "Cultural heritage space and traditional handicraft products" and art exchange program "Heritage colors"; summary, award ceremony, opening of Ninh Binh Art Photo Exhibition 2023; organization of "Space for promoting and connecting OCOP products associated with regional tourism activities in Ninh Binh"; Exhibition introducing products, goods, trade, services of the Young Entrepreneurs Association; International Badminton Tournament, Trang An Marathon 2023...

Currently, preparations for the 2nd Ninh Binh Festival in 2023 have been actively implemented by agencies, units and localities under the assignment of the Provincial People's Committee. In particular, the work of propagating and promoting heritages and historical and cultural relics is identified as an important task to raise public awareness of the protection and promotion of cultural heritage values. This activity is implemented by agencies, units and localities in many forms, focusing on bringing cultural heritage closer to the public. At the same time, we hope to turn the event into a large-scale, annual cultural and tourism activity, aiming to build a cultural product, a new brand for Ninh Binh culture, creating connections and cooperation in the fields of culture and tourism, attracting a large number of tourists, contributing to promoting the local image more strongly, increasing the number of visitors staying and visiting, promoting tourism growth in the socio-economic development of the province.
