In recent years, the movement to build residential areas with "3 no's": No social evils; No environmental pollution; No waste, bad customs, backwardness in weddings and funerals, implemented by the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees at all levels in the province, has contributed to changing the face of rural and urban areas and improving the quality of life of the people.
In Hung Yen city in the past years, along with the rapid urbanization process, there were limitations in implementing a civilized lifestyle. Responding to the movement to build "3 no" residential areas, depending on the requirements of each criterion, each ward and commune has its own way of doing things. Comrade Nguyen Thi Sam, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Phuong Nam commune (Hung Yen city) said: Based on the actual situation of each residential area, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the commune assigned responsibilities to each member organization such as: Youth Union, Farmers' Association mobilized union members to collect and treat waste; Women's Union was responsible for building flower roads; The Association of the Elderly mobilizes to eliminate bad customs in weddings, funerals... In particular, when Phuong Chieu and Hong Nam communes merged into Phuong Nam commune, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Phuong Nam commune quickly grasped the situation of the people, reported to the Standing Committee of the Party Committee to deploy propaganda, mobilize the people to practice civilized lifestyles, such as: not organizing lavish wedding parties for many days; cremating deceased relatives and rotating wreaths, not releasing votive papers on the street...
The construction of the “3 no” residential area combined with the implementation of the campaign “All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas” in My Hao town has received positive responses from the people. In Nhan Hoa ward, the Residential Area Front Work Committee has coordinated with mass organizations to propagate the 3 contents of the movement to each household. The campaign to build a civilized lifestyle focuses on solving pressing issues in the residential area such as: social evils, environmental pollution...
Mr. Nguyen Phuc Toan, a resident of Yen Tap Residential Area (Nhan Hoa Ward) said: The content of the movement was included in the residential area's village charter. Most of the weddings and funerals in the residential area are organized according to the new lifestyle. The maintenance of a clean and beautiful living environment in the residential area is maintained regularly. People, together with the environmental sanitation team, regularly organize cleaning of roads, streets and cultural activity spots.
Pham Ngu Lao Commune (Kim Dong) chose the criterion of "No social evils" to implement. Here, the Front Committee of residential areas and the police force have a firm grasp of the security and order situation; disseminate and equip people with knowledge to proactively be vigilant, prevent and fight against all types of crimes and social evils; arrange a security camera system and appropriate patrol teams, so the security and order situation in the area is basically stable; limiting new incidents and cases of social evils.
Ms. Do Thi Lam, Tien Quan Residential Area (Pham Ngu Lao Commune) expressed: The movement to build a "3 no" residential area has correctly and accurately solved the existing problems at the grassroots level and is close to the contents and criteria of new rural construction, so it has been highly supported by our people. In particular, the issue of security and order has been strictly implemented, helping people have a peaceful life; the number of juvenile crimes has decreased significantly.
The emulation movement to build "3 no" residential areas launched by the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province since 2013 has quickly received support from Party committees at all levels, authorities and people of all walks of life. The highlight is that up to now, localities have established and maintained hundreds of self-managed groups on security and order; over 1,000 models of self-managed residential areas to protect the environment; 100% of districts, towns and cities have implemented the model of "clean houses, clean alleys", tree-lined roads and flower roads deployed by the Women's Union; or the model of "Godmother" which not only helps children in special circumstances to rise up in life but also contributes to preventing minors from social evils. In many localities, bad customs have been eliminated, clearly limiting the situation of feasting for many days at funerals and weddings; building models of "Synchronized cemeteries"...
However, the implementation of the movement in some localities has been slow; there are still cases of weddings with banquets lasting for many days; weddings and funerals with loud speakers, past the prescribed time; the security and order situation in some localities is complicated, especially the evils of "black credit", disguised lottery...
In order for the emulation movement to build "3 no" residential areas to continue to penetrate deeply into life, it requires local Party committees and authorities, together with the Front Work Committee, to step up propaganda so that each citizen can raise awareness and take drastic actions for a civilized and safe life in accordance with the content of each criterion.
