On June 25, Mr. Danh Son, Vice Principal of Lai Son Secondary and High School, Kien Hai District (Kien Giang Province) said that 63 students of the school took a speedboat to Rach Gia city to take the 2024 high school graduation exam.

According to Mr. Son, to attend the graduation exam, the students prepared their belongings and boarded the train to the mainland. Most of the candidates had to pay for their own train tickets, vehicles, and accommodations during the exam days in Rach Gia. For candidates with difficult circumstances, the Education Promotion Association would support part of the cost. At the same time, the school also sent teachers to take the candidates to the exam.

On the same day, 75 candidates from Nam Du and Hon Tre island communes (Kien Hai district) also went to Rach Gia to prepare for the exam. Kien Giang provincial police arranged specialized vehicles to transport the candidates to their accommodation.

According to authorities, due to the small number of candidates, Kien Hai district did not arrange exam locations, and schools supported candidates to go to the mainland to take the graduation exam.

Mr. Tran Quang Bao - Director of the Department of Education and Training of Kien Giang province also said that since 6am this morning, the exam papers have been taken by teachers and police forces to Rach Gia wharf to go to Phu Quoc. The exam papers are carefully sealed, with the support of supervision and protection of the provincial police force.

The whole province of Kien Giang has more than 15,000 candidates taking the exam, arranged in 650 exam rooms at 26 exam locations in the localities. The province also mobilized about 2,066 officials, teachers and employees to work on the exam.
