At the 2025 High School Graduation Exam Training Conference in Ho Chi Minh City this morning (April 3), Mr. Huynh Van Chuong, Director of the Department of Quality Management (Ministry of Education and Training), said that this year, 100% digital transformation will be promoted, so all candidates taking the graduation exam will register online.

Independent candidates use VNEID to register. Candidates currently in grade 12 register at school. Candidates taking the 2025 high school graduation exam will have two programs to register for: the 2006 program and the 2018 program. Therefore, when registering, candidates must choose to avoid confusion.

Candidates taking the 2018 graduation exam will have 4 subjects, of which Math and Literature are two compulsory subjects, the remaining 2 subjects are optional from Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Geography, History, Economic and Legal Education, Information Technology, Technology and Foreign Languages ​​(English, German, Russian, Japanese, French, Chinese, Korean). It is expected that there will be about 1.1 million candidates taking the 2025 graduation exam.

Candidates for the 2006 graduation exam will take compulsory subjects: Math - Literature - Foreign Language and a combined exam (choose a natural science combination including the components of Physics, Chemistry, Biology or a social science combination including the subjects of History, Geography, and Civic Education).

According to Mr. Chuong, a new point this year is that the graduation recognition will increase the use of learning process assessment results from 30 to 50%, to evaluate students' abilities in 3 years of study.

In 2025, the education sector will pilot the issuance of digital high school diplomas to candidates. The learning and training results of candidates currently in grade 12 will be synchronized from the industry database immediately after the end of the school year on May 31. The four graduation exam subjects only account for 50% of the graduation score, but the exam questions will be differentiated so that schools can consider university admission.

In addition, Mr. Chuong said that candidates with foreign language certificates are exempted from the foreign language exam. Foreigners with Vietnamese language certificates are exempted from the Literature exam. The Ministry of Education and Training will not convert it into a 10 point score in the consideration of high school graduation recognition, but will only reduce the number of exams. Foreign language certificates must be valid until June 25, 2025.

The Director of the Department of Quality Management emphasized that this year, there will be candidates for the 2006 and 2018 programs taking the graduation exam together. For the 2006 program exam room, the full exam code must be printed and even if there is only 1 candidate, they must take the exam separately. As for the exam room for candidates for the 2018 program, the exam paper will only be printed for the number of candidates present in the exam room. For example, if there are 10 candidates taking the Physics exam in the room, only the exam code from 1-10 will be printed.

On the graduation exam day, all candidates must be present from the beginning of the exam, including the second shift, so the exam waiting room is very important. During the exam, candidates are not allowed to leave the exam room during the multiple-choice test. In case of force majeure, there must be close supervision and monitoring. The time between 2 shifts of the optional exam is 15 minutes, of which 10 minutes is for collecting the exam papers and 5 minutes for distributing the exam papers.

The Director of the Department of Quality Management (Ministry of Education and Training) requested that Departments of Education and Training nationwide thoroughly train officials and teachers working in exam supervision. The Ministry of Education and Training will support and is ready to go to localities to assist. "This year, the number of department directors has changed a lot, up to now at least 15 departments have new directors, including those who have only been in charge of this job for 1-2 months, so if necessary, the Ministry will go to localities to thoroughly train the departments," said Mr. Chuong.
