The key activity is the Book Fair to celebrate the 3rd Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day, which will take place at the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam from April 17-21.

The 3rd Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day in 2024 in Hanoi is held to continue affirming the role and importance of books in improving knowledge, education and training human personality. At the same time, encourage and develop the reading movement in the community; enhance the responsibility of all levels and sectors of the city for developing a reading culture. Build and develop the reading movement, towards building a learning society, creating beauty in the social life of the capital, contributing to building elegant and civilized Hanoians.

In particular, this event is organized in a diverse and rich way, combining traditional activities with modern organization methods following the development trend of electronic publishing; applying information technology to digital transformation to create new values ​​with the message: "Good books need readers"; "Precious books for friends"; "Give good books - Buy real books"; "Good books: Eyes read - Ears listen".

The opening ceremony of the 3rd Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day, co-organized by the Ministry of Information and Communications, the Central Propaganda Department, the Hanoi People's Committee, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and the Vietnam Publishing Association, took place at 8:00 p.m. on April 17 at the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam. The program was broadcast live on Hanoi Radio and Television.

Immediately after the opening ceremony, the Book Fair will take place until April 21, including activities to display book models, introduce and promote books by publishers, distribution companies, and technology companies. It is expected that 60 units will participate, with about 40,000 book titles.

During the Book Fair, there will be events introducing books, discussions, exchanges with authors and works; and art programs. In addition, agencies, organizations, departments, branches, districts, towns and cities of Hanoi will also organize activities in response to Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day 2024.

On this occasion, Hanoi Library and the system of district, town and city libraries; publishing and distribution units of the city will organize activities and events to exchange books, celebrate the 3rd Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day, and participate in events organized by the Central Government and the city.
