The journey to the source organized by the Youth Union of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on the occasion of the 94th anniversary of the founding of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the 80th anniversary of the Diplomatic sector, is an opportunity to pay tribute to the past, foster tradition, arouse the spirit of vanguard, and provide more provisions for the youth of the Diplomatic sector.

Back to the revolutionary land
On the second trip back to the source with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs delegation, I felt both familiar and noticed interesting changes in the journey. Looking through the car window, the road leading us to Tuyen Quang appeared with rolling hills hidden behind the lush green of palm trees and the purple-pink of wild Ban flowers. Around the road, the young rice fields stretched endlessly like a silk strip across the land rich in revolutionary traditions.
The first stop was Na Nua Hut located in the Tan Trao Special National Relic Site, where President Ho Chi Minh lived and worked during the months of preparation for the general uprising to seize power in 1945.

Returning to Tan Trao, amidst the majestic mountains and forests of Tuyen Quang, I felt the fresh air, the fragrant scent of trees and leaves, blending in the historical silence.
In front of the simple Na Nua Hut, I imagined Uncle Ho and his comrades discussing and deciding the fate of the nation. Not only is it a historical relic, this place also nurtures patriotism and instills the will of today's young generation.
Next, we visited Tan Trao communal house, where the National Congress (August 16-17, 1945) took place, considered the second Dien Hong conference. Here, important decisions about the national flag and national anthem were made, opening an era of independence for the nation.

Listening to the tour guide tell about the moment when Uncle Ho read the oath of determination to gain independence and freedom before the National Congress, an indescribable sacred feeling surged in my mind. Perhaps, each member of the delegation felt the tension of that period and the steadfast will and strong patriotism of the previous leaders.
Only about 100m from Tan Trao communal house, we visited the Memorial of revolutionary predecessors and the Monument of heroes and martyrs. Each statue placed here is a reminder for generations of young people to always respect and be grateful for the sacrifices of their ancestors that brought peace to the nation.
The glorious pages of history are not only distant memories, but also a source of vivid inspiration, nurturing awareness and arousing strong motivation for generations of cadres and youth union members of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. With each step on the land of history, I feel like I am returning to my roots and discovering new perspectives of myself. The patriotism and indomitable will of the previous generation seem to give us - those who are continuing the foreign affairs mission - more strength to contribute to bringing the country into an era of growth.

Affirming the desire to further spread the spirit of Youth Month to the younger generation, Deputy Secretary of the Youth Union of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ngo Ba Hoang Hai emphasized: “First of all, young union members must cultivate their own values through improving knowledge, developing professional skills, deeply understanding the expertise, as well as the traditions of the industry, from there being able to advise, propose during the work process and successfully complete assigned tasks”.
With the slogan "Keeping the tradition alive - Stepping forward to the future", the Deputy Secretary of the Ministry's Youth Union hopes that the youth union members of the Foreign Affairs sector, regardless of their positions, will always contribute their youth and creativity to strive to build their agencies and units and preserve historical traditions, following in the footsteps of previous generations.
New experience in the "resistance capital"
Leaving the Tan Trao Special National Relic Site, the delegation visited the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Historical Relic Site in Don Village, Minh Thanh Commune, Son Duong District, where the Ministry's headquarters was located from late 1947 to 1954. I felt that every small path, every row of trees, every stone here was imbued with history and was a living witness to the difficult and steadfast historical period of generations of diplomatic staff.
Reminding the youth union members of their responsibility to preserve and promote the fine diplomatic traditions of their ancestors and launching volunteer activities to clean up and beautify the relic site, Mr. Ngo Ba Hoang Hai did not forget to send his sincere thanks to the Minh Thanh commune youth union for their support in preserving the relic site so that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs delegation could return on special occasions.

Not only a journey to find historical roots, “Journey to the Source” is also an opportunity for the Ministry’s Youth Union to spread love. Here, Mr. Ngo Ba Hoang Hai, on behalf of the delegation, presented meaningful gifts to disadvantaged students in the locality. Looking at the bright smiles on the children’s faces, I felt more clearly the connection between the Ministry’s Youth Union members and the future buds of the country in an atmosphere filled with the spirit of mutual love.

Sharing about the significance of the trip, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Viet, Middle East - Africa Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized: “This is an opportunity for youth union members of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Diplomatic Academy and affiliated units to participate, experience and better understand the historical value. Those who have been here, like myself this is the second time, will be more imbued with the significance of Tan Trao relic site for the Vietnamese revolution in general and the diplomatic sector in particular. This is the place that marks the first steps of our country's diplomacy”.
I hope that young people will not only come to Tuyen Quang or historical revolutionary sites this March, but also on any occasion of the year, to review and understand more about the nation's tradition of building and defending the country. I hope that each person will have more motivation and goals to strive for, contributing to the common development of the country.
On this occasion, the group organized meaningful volunteer activities by painting, cleaning and embellishing the relic site. Looking at the active and meticulous cadres and youth union members in each layer of white paint on the historical wall, I felt the creative spirit and enthusiasm of youth imprinted in it, ready to unite to build the country's appearance in a new chapter.
Vu Quoc Tuan, an officer of the National Border Committee, happily shared: “As a young diplomat, I always have passion and desire to contribute to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. I am not afraid of difficulties and hardships to be able to contribute my part to the common work of the community. This program is very meaningful, as it has allowed young union members like us to know the contributions and dedication of previous generations, from which we have an example to reflect on, continuing to contribute on our diplomatic career path”.

Nguyen Van Tri, a student at the Diplomatic Academy, expressed his joy and honor when participating in the restoration of the relic site. According to Tri, this is an opportunity for young people to temporarily leave the hustle and bustle of the city, return to their roots, and understand more about history. “The most memorable experience for me on today's journey was going to the Tan Trao relic site, where Uncle Ho lived and worked. This is the first time I have been there, especially since my hometown is Nghe An, where Uncle Ho was born, so I admire the father of the nation even more,” Tri said.
For student Hoang Ha Van, Diplomatic Academy, the journey back to the source with the Ministry’s Youth Union has instilled in each person a sense of gratitude and pride. Looking at the simple stilt houses and simple stone slabs, Van could not help but admire how our ancestors, from seemingly small things, created today’s peace.

"That motivates us to study and practice harder to promote the values that previous generations have worked hard to cultivate. When I return, I will share my stories and experiences with other friends, helping them feel more clearly the pride in history and the role of youth in society," Van expressed.
That joy was also echoed by Minh Thanh Commune Youth Union Secretary Ma Van Vu: “I hope you will always maintain a sense of responsibility, follow in the footsteps of your ancestors and continuously promote the achievements left by previous generations. Today's youth are an important force in preserving and promoting the country's cultural and historical heritage.”
At the end of the journey, each member was filled with joy and pride. For me, it was also a deep awareness of the mission to preserve and promote the values of our ancestors, along with the responsibility to contribute to bringing Vietnam further. Certainly, each cadre and youth in the delegation has more confidence and motivation to inherit the diplomatic tradition, contributing solid steps on the path of development and integration of the country.
