The University Council of the University of Science (Ho Chi Minh City National University) has just announced the results of an extraordinary meeting with many contents, including the dismissal of Mr. Nguyen Anh Thi from the position of university council member.

Mr. Nguyen Anh Thi's name has been removed from the school board list.
The University Council of the University of Natural Sciences (Ho Chi Minh City National University) has just held an extraordinary meeting to consider dismissing Mr. Nguyen Anh Thi - former Party Secretary and Head of the Management Board of Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Park - from the position of member of the university council.
Previously, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Anh Thi was on the list of the University Council of the University of Natural Sciences (Ho Chi Minh City National University) as a council member; educator, scientist, and employer.
However, currently on the school's website, Mr. Nguyen Anh Thi's name is no longer listed on the school board members.
At the extraordinary meeting of the first term, 2020-2025, held on November 20, the school council discussed and voted to dismiss Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Anh Thi from the position of member of the school council of the University of Science (Ho Chi Minh City National University), in accordance with current regulations.
Thus, based on the voting results of the school board members at the above meeting, the school board issued a resolution of dismissal and submitted it to the University Council of Ho Chi Minh City National University for consideration of dismissal according to its authority.
According to the School Council Office, the reason for considering dismissing Mr. Nguyen Anh Thi from the school council is because he violated the law.
The Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee's Inspection Commission said that the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee has disciplined Mr. Nguyen Anh Thi, Party Secretary and Head of the Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Park Management Board, by removing him from all Party positions.
Mr. Nguyen Anh Thi violated: regulations on what party members are not allowed to do; regulations on exemplary responsibility of cadres and party members, especially key leaders at all levels; and the Law on Marriage and Family.
On October 2, the Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee agreed to transfer Mr. Nguyen Anh Thi to work at the Ho Chi Minh City Institute for Development Studies.
Introducing personnel to appoint 2 vice principals
Also at the above-mentioned school council meeting, the University of Natural Sciences said it had completed the 5-step process under the direction of Ho Chi Minh City National University to introduce personnel to appoint vice principal.
Accordingly, the school proposed to add two vice principal positions with the duties of student affairs, learner care and training.
At the same time, the school board also approved the repair and installation of air conditioners at campus 2 (HCMC National University urban area).
Currently, buildings D, E, G and the school's administration building at campus 2 have been and are being completed in terms of facilities, ensuring 87 classrooms are fully equipped with air conditioning before the hot season of 2025, serving optimal learning conditions for more than 8,000 students per class.
