On the morning of September 12, the Provincial Veterans Association held a conference to summarize 20 years of implementing Resolution No. 09 - NQ/TW, dated January 8, 2002 of the Politburo (9th tenure) on "Strengthening the Party's leadership over the work of Vietnamese Veterans in the new revolutionary period".
Attending the conference were comrades: Major General Ho Ba Vinh, Head of the Central Propaganda Department of the Vietnam Veterans Association; Tran Song Tung, Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Do Viet Anh, Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Committee; Bui Mai Hoa, Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department.
Over the past 20 years, the Provincial Veterans Association and the Veterans Associations at all levels have proactively coordinated with functional agencies to advise the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee and Party committees at all levels on many policies and solutions to lead and direct the organization to thoroughly grasp and seriously and effectively implement Resolution 09-NQ/TW of the Politburo (9th tenure).
Party committees at all levels regularly pay attention to and improve the organization of the Association, creating favorable conditions for the Association to operate; the coordination between the government, the Fatherland Front, sectors and organizations with the Association of War Veterans is increasingly close and effective. The Association is increasingly consolidated and developed, meeting the requirements of tasks in the new situation.
The Association of War Veterans at all levels has effectively and qualitatively carried out political tasks and tasks assigned by the Party Committee; actively participated in building and protecting the Party, the government, and the people; united and helped each other to develop the economy, reduce poverty, and carry out charitable activities. Actively participated in socio-economic development programs, ensured national defense and security in the locality, coordinated in educating the revolutionary tradition for the younger generation. Mobilized, gathered, and promoted the active role of Veterans at the grassroots level.
The results achieved by the Veterans Association at all levels over the past 20 years have significantly contributed to the socio-economic development of the province; affirmed the role and importance of the Veterans Association in the political system; and are a reliable force and a solid support for the Party, government and people.
At the conference, delegates agreed on the direction and tasks of the Veterans Association in the coming time, which is to continue promoting the nature and tradition of "Uncle Ho's soldiers", unite to overcome difficulties, and be determined to build a strong and comprehensive Association, contributing to the successful implementation of local political tasks, and building Ninh Binh province to become increasingly rich, beautiful, and civilized.
Speaking at the conference, Major General Ho Ba Vinh, Head of the Central Propaganda Department of the Vietnam Veterans Association and Comrade Do Viet Anh, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Committee, commended, acknowledged and highly appreciated the achievements of the Veterans Association at all levels of the province in the past time.
To better implement the work of war veterans in the new revolutionary period, comrades suggested that Party committees and authorities at all levels need to thoroughly grasp and fully understand the responsibility for implementing war veterans work in accordance with the spirit of Resolution No. 09-NQ/TW and Conclusion No. 66-KL/TW. Regularly pay attention to leadership, direction, guidance, and inspection; periodically organize preliminary and final reviews to assess the actual results of war veterans work, draw lessons, and continue to direct and organize effective implementation according to the requirements of the new revolutionary period.
Focus on informing the War Veterans Association members about new policies of the Party and State, the socio-economic development situation of the province and locality; create favorable conditions for the War Veterans Association to participate in giving opinions on the Party's policies, the State's policies and laws; continue to coordinate and pay attention to creating conditions for the War Veterans Association to promote its position and role in socio-economic development, maintaining political security and social order and safety of the locality.
The Association of War Veterans at all levels promotes the emulation movement "Exemplary Veterans" in conjunction with mobilizing and organizing for war veterans to participate effectively in local movements and campaigns; promotes the role of the Association of War Veterans in implementing grassroots democracy regulations, fighting against corruption; does a good job of grassroots reconciliation, building new rural areas, civilized urban areas, and reducing poverty; continues to do a good job of social supervision and criticism, participating in Party building, and building a clean and strong government.
