On December 20, at Dung Quat Oil Refinery, the Veterans Association of Binh Son Refining and Petrochemical Joint Stock Company (BSR) held a Conference to summarize the association's work in 2024, commemorating the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2024) and the 35th anniversary of the National Defense Day (December 22, 1989 - December 22, 2024). Attending the conference were comrade Bui Ngoc Duong - Member of the Party Executive Committee of Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, General Director of BSR; comrade Khuong Le Thanh - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Member of the Board of Directors, Chairman of the BSR Veterans Association; comrade Pham Minh Nghia - Member of the Party Standing Committee, Deputy General Director of BSR; with the Factory Board of Directors, the Executive Board of the Veterans Association, representatives of the Trade Union, Youth Union and members of the Veterans Association of the unit.
Overview of the 2024 BSR Veterans Association Summary Conference. In 2024, in political and ideological work, the BSR Veterans Association has promoted the tradition of "Uncle Ho's Army", united, proactive, creative, and effectively organized the implementation of patriotic emulation movements. In particular, the Association has organized the dissemination and propaganda of the Party and State's guidelines and policies, directives and resolutions of the Party Committee and the Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group Veterans Association. At the same time, it has encouraged members to uphold the revolutionary tradition and the spirit of "Uncle Ho's Army", actively participate in activities and complete all assigned tasks. In particular, it has coordinated with the Youth Union to organize exchanges and discussions to review the glorious historical values of the Party, educate the ideology of cadres, members and youth union members in the awareness to protect the Party and fulfill the political tasks of BSR. In the past year, the Association also organized visits, encouragement and gifts for members in difficult circumstances, suffering from serious illnesses before the Lunar New Year of Giap Thin 2024. At the same time, well implemented the visiting regime and support regimes for retired members,... In particular, activities such as showing gratitude to members who are war invalids, officers and employees who are relatives of martyrs on July 27; movements such as "Eliminating hunger and reducing poverty", building houses of gratitude and love for war invalids, contributing to support people affected by natural disasters were also seriously and effectively implemented by the BSR War Veterans Association.
Comrade Bui Ngoc Duong - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, General Director of BSR spoke at the conference. In particular, the Veterans Association has created and initiated many practical solutions, contributing to the production and business activities of BSR, helping to reduce daily production costs by over 10 billion VND and bringing productivity and efficiency to the factory. In particular, the initiatives and solutions implemented by the members of the Association of War Veterans include "Research on the application of Nano paint to protect equipment and pipelines of Dung Quat Oil Refinery", "Reliability treatment at the sealing surface of the E-2316 heat exchanger", Solution to reduce the time to reassemble the heat exchanger for E-502 at the PP plastic pellet production workshop", "Solution to manufacture dust suppression equipment during catalyst replacement at the NET GAS CHLORIDE TREATER & LPG CHLORIDE TREATER equipment of D-1302AB & D-1308AB"... These solutions also helped members win many awards for initiatives and creativity of the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group. In 2024, the Association of War Veterans of BSR also always upholds the spirit of exemplary behavior, thereby, no member violated and contributed positively to the overall achievements of BSR. Taking the lead in the unit's movements, the BSR Veterans Association has actively grasped information in the area to deploy propaganda activities, disseminate and mobilize the masses to comply with the Regulations on the safety corridor to protect Dung Quat Refinery at sea, on land and compensation for site clearance for the project to upgrade and expand the factory. Coordinated with the Provincial Military Command to complete the training course for the 37mm-1 Air Defense Artillery Company. In addition, the establishment of the Assault Team promoted the nature and tradition of "Uncle Ho's soldiers" on the new front of "production and business" and actively supported the work of ensuring order, safety and fire prevention during the 5th general maintenance phase of Dung Quat Refinery. Speaking at the conference, Comrade Bui Ngoc Duong - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, General Director of BSR acknowledged and praised the spirit of the Veterans Association in setting an example, being enthusiastic in the political tasks and production and business of BSR in 2024. The Veterans Association is also a solid support, a shining example, taking the lead in performing tasks for employees to follow. In particular, during the 5th general maintenance of Dung Quat Oil Refinery, the Veterans Association took the lead in controlling security and order, ensuring safety for the plant. Thereby, contributing to the overall success of the maintenance and achieving more than 49 million safe working hours of Dung Quat Oil Refinery.
BSR's leadership representative commended the positive contributions of the Association of War Veterans in 2024. In 2025, the Association of War Veterans of BSR set the goal of promoting the achievements, preserving and promoting the nature of "Uncle Ho's soldiers", actively participating in building and protecting the Party, the government, the socialist regime, being exemplary in labor production, contributing with employees to complete the Company's production and business plan, determined to successfully implement the Resolution of the BSR Party Congress.
