In recent days, while the Hoi An City government (Quang Nam) has given many explanations so that people and tourists can have a more thorough view of the restoration process of the Japanese Covered Bridge relic, on social networks, some comparison images have appeared with the information "ancient plate on the roof of the Japanese Covered Bridge was stolen".
Accordingly, some Facebook pages posted two photos of the roof of the Japanese Covered Bridge, one with many green plates decorating the roof and one without.
Regarding this incident, on the afternoon of August 1, Mr. Pham Phu Ngoc - Director of the Hoi An Cultural Heritage Management and Conservation Center affirmed that the information about the loss of the ancient plate on the roof of the Japanese Covered Bridge after restoration was distorted.
According to Mr. Ngoc, the entire front plate of the bridge's eaves was numbered and restored to its original position by 80%, with only some completely lost plate positions being replaced at both ends of the bridge. The roof edge and the original plate with slight cracks were treated and returned. The specific details of these parts have pictures of the current status taken, recorded and completed in practice.

Chairman of Hoi An City People's Committee Nguyen Van Son also said that the image on the internet is not accurate. The disc installed on the Japanese Covered Bridge after the restoration used the old disc. In addition, this is not an ancient disc, but only appeared after the restoration in 1986.
