Hoai Duc: Evaluation and classification of 17 OCOP products

On October 29, Hoai Duc District People's Committee organized the evaluation and classification of district-level OCOP products in 2024. Photo: Phuong Nguyen Head of the Economic Department of Hoai Duc District Khuat Trong Kien said: The One Commune One Product (OCOP) program is a rural economic development program, focusing on supporting enterprises, cooperatives, and small and medium-sized production households, aiming to promote traditional values of localities, develop the economy, and improve people's lives. Photo: Phuong Nguyen After 5 years of implementation (2019-2024), up to now, Hoai Duc district has 114 OCOP products recognized with 3 stars or more, of which 83 products have achieved 4 stars. The classified and evaluated products have promoted their value, brought high economic efficiency, helped change the production mindset of the subjects participating in the program. Farmers have also shifted from small-scale to concentrated production, towards safety, improved designs, built brands and product labels, met market demand, created more jobs and stable income for workers in their families and localities. The results of the OCOP Program have contributed positively to the overall socio-economic development achievements of the whole district. At the conference, members of the OCOP Product Evaluation and Classification Council of Hoai Duc district scored, evaluated and classified 17 products of 7 entities from the communes: Duong Lieu, Di Trach, An Khanh, Song Phuong, Duc Thuong, An Thuong. Of which, 11 products belong to the food group, such as: Vermicelli, dry pho, drinks, confectionery, fruits; 3 products belong to the garment group and 3 pharmaceutical products. These are all products proposed for the first time to be evaluated and classified as OCOP, and have now affirmed their position and brand in the market inside and outside the district. In particular, some products are eligible for export. The OCOP Product Evaluation and Classification Council scored the products according to the criteria: Products and community strength; production capacity, environmental protection; marketing ability, product quality. As a result, 12 products achieved 3 stars and 5 potential products with 4 stars. Through evaluation and classification, it aims to discover and honor agricultural products with high quality, high use value, and potential for large-scale production development.
