Man City draw with Chelsea in 8-goal match
Man City got off to a good start with striker Erling Haaland opening the scoring from a penalty kick in the 25th minute. However, Chelsea immediately responded by creating great pressure and equalizing 1-1 just 4 minutes later through Thiago Silva with a tricky header.
With this goal, center back Thiago Silva (39 years, 51 days) became the oldest player to score in the Premier League after Ryan Giggs in February 2013.
Not stopping there, in the 37th minute, captain Reece James crossed the ball for Sterling to finish into an empty net, helping the home team come back to take a 2-1 lead against the defending champions.
But this was not the result of the first half because Man City then equalized 2-2 after Manuel Akanji's successful header in the first minute of extra time.
The 2-2 result made the second half of the big match at Stamford Bridge even more exciting and dramatic before ending in a super "crazy" scenario.
In the 47th minute, Haaland completed his double with a close-range touch from a favorable cross from his partner Julian Alvarez, raising the score to 3-2 for Man City.
After this goal, Man City continuously created dangerous situations in front of Robert Sanchez's goal but could not score. On the contrary, they let their opponents equalize 3-3 after Nicolas Jackson's quick run down to seize the opportunity.
In the 83rd minute, Rodri's shot from outside the penalty area hit Thiago Silva's foot and changed direction, defeating Robert Sanchez, helping Man City take a 4-3 lead.
However, coach Pep Guardiola's team could not successfully defend the result when Ruben Dias fouled Broja in the penalty area in the 90+2 minute, forcing Man City to concede a penalty kick.
On the penalty spot, "old man" Cole Palmer did not miss the opportunity to score the decisive goal to tie the score at 4-4 - a result that few people thought of before this match took place.
Sharing points after the big match, Man City continues to lead the Premier League rankings this season with 28 points, but the gap between them and the teams behind is not too big.
Meanwhile, Chelsea climbed to 10th place in the rankings after 12 rounds with only 16 points in hand.
Liverpool beat Brentford
Also in this round, Liverpool had a resounding 3-0 victory in welcoming Brentford at Anfield Stadium.
Mohamed Salah shone with a double past goalkeeper Mark Flekken after assists from Darwin Nunez and Kostas Tsimikas. The remaining goal for The Kop was scored by Diogo Jota.
This convincing victory helped coach Juergen Klopp's team rise to second place in the Premier League, with 27 points, just one point behind Man City.
On the other side of the front line, Brentford still only has 16 points after 12 matches, falling to 11th place in the Premier League this season.
Aston Villa climbs to fifth place in Premier League
Aston Villa also continued their fine run of form this season with a 3-1 win over visitors Fulham at Villa Park, thanks to goals from John McGinn and Ollie Watkins and an own goal from Antonee Robinson.
This victory helps Aston Villa to be in the top 5 teams in the Premier League this season with 25 points, just one win behind the top spot.
Meanwhile, Brighton & Hove Albion continue to lack consistent form this season, only managing a 1-1 draw at home against relegation zone Sheffield United.
Brighton & Hove Albion were in good position to win the game, taking a 1-0 lead through Simon Adingra in the 6th minute.
However, luck did not smile on Brighton & Hove Albion when they had to play with one less man from the 69th minute, then let their opponents equalize thanks to an own goal by Adam Webster.
With this result, Brighton & Hove Albion has 19 points after 12 matches, missing the opportunity to enter the top 6 of the Premier League.
