Hoa Binh province's agricultural products have been exported to many international markets, with a total value of more than 555 billion VND in 2024. This is a great success that not every mountainous province can achieve.
Approach the market with product quality
Identifying agricultural production towards export to increase economic value, Hoa Binh province with its available potential and advantages, has proactively promoted trade promotion, consumption connection, brand building and product quality improvement. Not only participating in fairs and exhibitions in and outside the province, the authorities have developed plans and proactively connected with foreign enterprises to support provincial enterprises to meet and expand markets.
With the efforts of authorities at all levels, businesses and the social community, from 2022 to present, many products such as red grapefruit (Tan Lac district), Dien grapefruit (Yen Thuy district), fresh sugarcane (Tan Lac district), fresh bamboo shoots (Kim Boi district), oranges (Cao Phong district), Son Thuy longan (Kim Boi district), Song Boi tea (Lac Thuy district) ... have been successfully exported, with high profits, contributing to improving the competitiveness of agricultural products, promoting safe production, effectively developing production chains that meet VietGap and Global Gap standards, increasing people's income.

2023 marks an important event when Hoa Binh province organizes the ceremony to export the first batch of 20 tons of fresh sugarcane to the US market. The raw materials are purchased in Tan My commune, Lac Son district.
This is a premise for businesses to learn about the province's agricultural products, learn about distribution channels, and continue to expand the market with new products.
By 2024, dozens of enterprises in and outside the province have invested in and processed key agricultural products such as oranges, grapefruits, wood, spices, etc. for export. The province's agricultural products are accepted by many markets, including demanding markets such as the United States, the EU, the Middle East, India, etc.
From the beginning of 2025 to now, there have been 8 export establishments with a total output of over 12,509 tons, reaching a value of over 93 billion VND. Of which, 3 forestry enterprises exported 12,209 tons of products, reaching nearly 79 billion VND, and 5 agricultural product export establishments with a total output of 300 tons, earning about 14.18 billion VND.
Notably, 66 tons of various types of bamboo shoots were exported to the Netherlands, Japan, and South Korea; 136.7 tons of pickled vegetables were exported to the Japanese market; 20 tons of Bat Bao lotus tea and porridge products were exported to the Korean market; 53 tons were exported to the UK, US, and EU markets, with a value of over VND800 million; and 25 tons of oranges worth over VND600 million were exported to the Malaysian market.
Thanks to taking advantage of opportunities from bilateral and multilateral agreements, including the Vietnam-UK Free Trade Agreement (UKVFTA), many specialty fruits such as Cao Phong oranges, Cao Phong tangerines, Tan Lac red grapefruit, Dien grapefruit and other specialties such as honey, vermicelli, turmeric starch, peach lemon, Gynostemma pentaphyllum tea... have been present in the UK market through RYB Joint Stock Company (Hoa Binh).
Director of RYB Joint Stock Company Nguyen Thi Thanh Huong assessed that agricultural products of Hoa Binh province have great export potential, especially citrus products such as Cao Phong oranges, Dien grapefruit, and red-fleshed grapefruit. In the third year, the enterprise has directly exported red-fleshed grapefruit and Dien grapefruit, and these products have been accepted by consumers in two demanding markets, the UK and the US.
With the motto that export not only creates a stable source of finance, but also helps farmers change their farming mindset, abandon backward practices, build brands for agricultural products to improve productivity and product quality, the enterprise has accompanied and attached to farmers from the stages of seeds, care, plant protection to harvesting and processing products.
In 2025, the company plans to consume more than 500 tons of agricultural products. Along with promoting exports to traditional markets, RYB Company will expand to new markets such as India, China, Thailand, Laos and Muslim countries .

Increase competitiveness for export
Speaking to reporters, Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Hoa Binh province Nguyen Huy Nhuan said that the agricultural sector strives to achieve an export turnover of 138 million USD for key agricultural products by 2030, focusing on major markets such as the US, EU, UK, China, Japan, and South Korea.
To achieve that goal, along with improving product quality to increase competitiveness, the province has developed projects to support production, effectively use all resources, strengthen trade promotion and support production areas to issue codes for growing areas, farming areas, packaging facilities, agricultural processing facilities and train production enterprises on regulations from the import side.
Previously, Hoa Binh's main export strengths were products from cassava, bamboo shoots, peanuts... Up to now, thanks to the strong direction of the provincial leaders, the efforts of the agricultural sector and the effective participation of enterprises, many agricultural products have kept pace with the competitive environment and strongly penetrated the world market.
Having identified a favorable location for transportation and potential for the quality of agricultural products in Hoa Binh province, HAGIMX Company is building a factory to produce agricultural products and vegetables locally. Company Chairman Nguyen Tien Anh said that in 2024, the company exported more than 10 million USD worth of agricultural products to international markets, including demanding markets such as the EU and the US. In 2025, the company aims to export 17 million USD.
Along with the good consumption of agricultural products, the company has worked with localities to build a stable chain of links, build product brands, geographical indications, collective trademarks, etc. to turn common products into specialty crops. From there, it focuses on investing, improving production style, enhancing competitive quality so that the province's agricultural products can reach the world market.

In 2024, the agricultural sector of Hoa Binh province will achieve 100% of the planned target. Of which, the GRDP growth rate of the agricultural, forestry and fishery sector is estimated at 3.25%; the production value is estimated at about 13.9 trillion VND. The management of quality and safety of agricultural, forestry and fishery products; the management of quality of agricultural materials and the promotion of consumption and export of agricultural products are effectively implemented.
In 2025, the province sets a target of a growth rate of 4.3% for the agriculture, forestry and fishery sector; the value of agricultural, forestry and fishery production reaches about 14.5 trillion VND.
