Professor, Dr. Thanh Han Binh, Director of the Institute of Regional and National Studies and Director of the Center for Vietnamese Studies at Zhejiang University of Industry, in an interview with a reporter from the People's Daily in China, emphasized that the event of April 30, 1975 marked the end of the Vietnamese people's decades-long resistance war against American imperialism, completely liberating the South and unifying the country. The whole country advanced to socialism, protecting independence, sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity, while bringing peace and stability.

This victory was achieved under the wise leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, showing that only the Communist Party can lead the people to repel invaders, build solid prestige among the people; at the same time, promote development in building socialism, create a new face of a society led by the people, and protect the achievements of the revolution.

Professor Thanh Han Binh affirmed that the April 30 Victory also has significance for the world, encouraging countries that have not yet gained independence to have more motivation and confidence, providing lessons in the struggle against colonialism and imperialism of progressive people around the world. This is a brilliant milestone in the history of anti-imperialism, a great contribution of Vietnam to the world and the socialist movement.

Journalist and historian Pedro de Oliveira, Secretary General of the Brazil-Vietnam Friendship Association, assessed that the victory of the Vietnamese people in the resistance war against American imperialism was a great achievement in the cause of national liberation and reunification led by President Ho Chi Minh and the Communist Party of Vietnam.

On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification, Mr. Oliveira commented that the victory of the Vietnamese Revolution had a huge impact on the international situation. The victory of the Vietnamese army and people encouraged and motivated other nations to carry out the cause of national liberation, fight against imperialism, and usher in the collapse of neo-colonialism, especially in Africa.
