On the morning of November 21, the leader of the People's Committee of Vu Quang town said that over the past 10 days, after heavy rain, a deep hole suddenly appeared on Hai Thuong Lan Ong street (section through residential group 5, Vu Quang town, Vu Quang district).
It is known that when expanding the road, the construction unit installed stone cages around to limit landslides. However, due to prolonged heavy rain, strong water flow caused the Hai Thuong Lan Ong road to be eroded.
Serious landslides have affected traffic through this area. Initial estimates indicate that nearly 100 cubic meters of soil, rock, and asphalt road surface have collapsed and been swept away by the water.
According to observations, this landslide continues to spread and gouge deep into the road, posing potential risks of traffic safety and accidents.
"The serious landslide broke two-thirds of the road, about 10 meters long, creating a dangerous deep hole. We have placed warning signs and barricades at both ends to ensure safety," said the leader of Vu Quang town.
According to the leader of Vu Quang town, to ensure safety at night, the government has installed traffic lights and divided traffic from both sides of the landslide-prone road.
"The landslide has occurred for more than ten days but has not been fixed because the landslide is serious. To fix it, we need about half a billion VND. We are proposing to the district to arrange the budget for timely repair and fix," added the leader of the People's Committee of Vu Quang town.
