Two kindergartens, Phuc Ninh (Cau Giat point) and Hung Loi (Chuong village point), Yen Son district, Tuyen Quang province, were severely affected by storm No. 3 and have just received emergency support, donated learning equipment and kitchen utensils.
Typhoon No. 3 (Typhoon Yagi) made landfall in the North last September, causing floods, landslides and heavy damage to people and property. This was the strongest storm in 30 years in Vietnam, leaving more than 2,000 people dead or missing, with dozens of schools destroyed.
In Yen Son district (Tuyen Quang province), where 22 ethnic groups live together and 52% of the population are ethnic minorities, storm Yagi damaged 39 educational facilities, making post-storm recovery more urgent than ever.
Phuc Ninh (Cau Giat) and Hung Loi (Chuong village) kindergartens in Yen Son district have a total of 145 students. After the storm, almost all equipment at the schools, including the kitchen area, was damaged. This poses a major challenge to maintaining a safe learning environment for the children.

Restore a safe, nurturing school environment for children
In the face of the devastating consequences of Typhoon Yagi, Saigon Children's Charity CIO (saigonchildren) has donated essential equipment such as tables and chairs, bedding, rice cookers, industrial gas stoves, cabinets, shelves, and many other items, helping schools ensure living and learning conditions for children.
Ms. Le Thi Anh Duong, Principal of Hung Loi Kindergarten, shared: “This practical support helps our school have enough equipment for children to study comfortably and safely. The industrial gas stoves will help children have hot meals at school, and new blankets and mattresses will keep them warm in the coming winter.”
The program donated learning equipment and kitchen utensils to two kindergartens, Phuc Ninh (Cau Giat point) and Hung Loi (Chuong village point), helping the schools ensure living and learning conditions for children.
This activity is part of saigonchildren’s “Building Schools and Improving School Environment” program. Over the past 30 years, the program has built and renovated more than 230 schools and 600 classrooms nationwide, opening up a bright future for more than 20,000 children each year.
