Regarding the land subsidence in the Ho To area, the People's Committee of Quang Nam province said that the recorded results showed that there were no cracks or other unusual signs around the subsidence area, so there was not enough basis to determine the cause of the subsidence.

Therefore, the Provincial People's Committee assigned the Tien Phuoc District People's Committee to direct the Tien Hiep Commune People's Committee to continue to maintain careful fencing in the subsidence area, put up warning signs and inform local people to prevent accidents for people and livestock; at the same time, continue to monitor the subsidence in this area and surrounding areas, if further subsidence occurs or worsens, immediately report to relevant agencies to advise the Provincial People's Committee to request the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment to direct specialized agencies to conduct in-depth investigation and survey to have specific conclusions.
Previously, on December 26, 2023, in the Ho To area, local people were surprised to hear a loud explosion underground. Approaching the scene, people discovered a hole about 10m deep and more than 5m in diameter appearing on the forest land of Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Anh's household.
There are many cracks around the crater and there is a potential risk of further landslides, affecting the lives of people herding cattle or clearing fields if not handled promptly.
Faced with the above situation, the Tien Hiep commune government directed the commune's natural disaster prevention force to protect the scene, use wooden poles and barbed wire to barricade around the mouth of the hole, and put up signs warning of land subsidence to warn people.
