TPO - Although the government has posted signs prohibiting and warning of dangerous landslides, many people in cars and motorbikes still deliberately break through the fence to enter Yen Nghia dike (Ha Dong district, Hanoi) which is seriously sinking.

Due to the impact of recent storms and rains, the left-bank dike section through Yen Nghia ward (Ha Dong district) has 3 subsidence points, posing a risk of traffic safety. |
Specifically, the Yen Nghia dike incidents occurred at locations from K22+300 - K22+335. Some locations had many cracks over 20 cm wide. |
The functional forces of Ha Dong district have coordinated with the People's Committee of Yen Nghia ward to erect warning signs from a distance, prohibition signs and a barrier system at both ends of Yen Nghia dike, where the subsidence occurred. |
However, many motorcyclists calmly drive into the section of the dike where the landslide is occurring, regardless of the danger and prohibition signs. |
This is not only a violation of traffic laws but can also damage dike infrastructure, causing landslides to spread. |
According to the reporter, because the Yen Nghia dike section is closed, vehicles are forced to move down the road along the foot of the dike. However, this road is narrow and has many large trucks, so traffic jams often occur, even for hours. |
To escape traffic jams along the dike, vehicles turn around and enter the restricted road. |
Many motorbikes, regardless of the danger, crossed the fence and the seriously subsided dike. |
"Since the dike collapsed, the road below has always been congested. If two trucks go in opposite directions, there is no way out. Therefore, many people choose to cross the dike to go. If they go around, they will go very far," said people living under the Yen Nghia dike. |
The road surface is severely damaged due to subsidence, with many potholes appearing, posing a potential risk to traffic safety and causing accidents. |
Many buffalo ridges appeared on Yen Nghia dike surface. |
It is known that the current load capacity of Yen Nghia dike can accommodate vehicles under 10 tons, some sections allow 12-ton vehicles. However, according to the reflection of the people on this dike, there are often overloaded vehicles moving, affecting the dike and traffic. |
