HMD is not a well-known brand in the smartphone market, although it is the manufacturer behind the current Nokia brand. Since acquiring the Nokia brand in 2016, HMD has pursued a competitive pricing strategy by manufacturing all smartphones under the once-famous brand in Asia, where labor is cheap.
But the company has just announced its decision to produce Nokia smartphones that support 5G connectivity in Europe. In fact, the Finnish company claims to be the first major smartphone manufacturer to move production to the "old continent". In addition to Nokia, the company has also confirmed the launch of the HMD smartphone brand.
Nokia XR21 is HMD's first 5G smartphone made entirely in Europe
HMD’s first 5G smartphone made in Europe, the Nokia XR21, is currently only available to business customers. It comes in several versions, including the limited Frosted Platinum edition, which is limited to 30 units, each priced at 700 euros (nearly 18 million VND) in the UK, France, Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, Italy and Finland.
Another version is the Nokia XR21 European Edition in black, priced from 650 euros, available in the same market group plus Ireland.
XR21 is considered the successor to the XR20 model launched in 2021. The device has a large 6.49-inch, 120 Hz screen, the focus is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 chip, along with a dual 64 MP + 8 MP camera cluster on the back. The battery has a capacity of 4,800 mAh, supporting 33W fast charging.
