Mr. Ma Di Mang (born in 1972), Nan Xin commune, Xin Man district (Ha Giang), has made a very admirable gesture when donating land to build a school. This action not only shows his kindness and love for the community but also contributes to improving learning conditions for children in mountainous areas with many difficulties.
In 2022, Nan Xin commune has a project to rebuild the degraded Ma Di Vang Kindergarten. However, the project encountered difficulties because the land area of the old school was quite narrow and steep, not ensuring learning conditions for students, while the commune's land fund was limited.
After many surveys to find a location to build a new school but still facing difficulties. In that situation, after understanding the commune's policy, realizing that the family's garden land is quite flat and close to the center, if the school is built, it will be very safe for the students when going to class, Mr. Mang discussed with family members and was willing to donate land to build the school.

Mr. Mang shared: My family has lived in this border area for many generations. Life mainly depends on corn and rice growing along the mountain slopes. In previous years, the Mong ethnic people in the village still faced many difficulties in life, but with the attention of the Party and the State, life here has gradually stabilized. I donated land to build a school with the hope that the children will have a better place to study.
The land donated by Mr. Ma Di Mang's family is nearly 500 square meters wide, located right on the main road of Ma Di Vang village. Ma Di Vang Kindergarten was built with 2 classrooms, 1 playground and 1 kitchen, completed in the joy and excitement of teachers, students and local people.
After the school was completed, realizing that the school campus needed a fence to protect the safety of the students, because behind the school was a steep slope and there was a family fish pond, Mr. Mang continued to mobilize people in the village to contribute money to buy materials and labor days to build a fence to protect the students so they could play and study in peace.
"Donating land to build a school is also good for our children and our locality. Building a school will make it easier for students to travel, and people will also have less worry about having to pick them up far from home..." said Mr. Ma Di Mang.

Teacher Ban Thi Xuan, Principal of Nan Xin Kindergarten shared: It is very fortunate that Mr. Ma Di Mang's family donated land to build a spacious and clean school, ensuring favorable conditions for teaching and learning at the school. The head of Ma Di Vang village is very enthusiastic with the students. When the teachers of the school need support and help from the people, such as cleaning the environment, pruning trees, building school gates or playgrounds, etc., he is always a pioneer and mobilizes parents and people to join hands to support.
Not only is he a pioneer in the movement of donating land to build a new countryside, as a village chief and a prestigious person in the village, Ma Di Mang is always exemplary in local emulation movements. Ma Di Vang village has 54 households, mainly Mong ethnic people, of which 15 are poor.
Mr. Mang said: In the past, the Nan Xin border area also faced many difficulties, the traffic was not convenient. The education of children was not given much attention due to the backward concepts and thinking of many households such as girls going to school less than boys. However, with the attention of the Party and the State, authorities at all levels invested in supporting border residents with many policies on economic development, building infrastructure for health care and education.
"Thanks to that, people's awareness has been raised, their children's education has also been given more attention, regardless of boys or girls, all are equal and have the same education. Mong people in Ma Di Vang are always united, comply with the State's policies, support and help each other in life. Studying and remembering Uncle Ho's teachings, taking care of production, maintaining the border, "rich people, strong country" then mobilizing people will become easier, contributing to the good implementation of the programs of building new rural areas, protecting security and order, and the Fatherland's border", Mr. Mang added.
Besides mobilizing people to donate land to build new rural areas, Nan Xin commune also focuses on administrative reform, taking people as the center of service.
Speaking to reporters, Mr. Sin Van Chuc, Chairman of the People's Committee of Nan Xin Commune, Xin Man District, said: In recent years, the movement of donating land to build new rural areas in the commune has spread widely, from which many typical examples have appeared in donating land to build rural roads and other welfare projects. Ma Di Vang Village is a typical example of building new rural areas, protecting security, order and social safety. Mr. Ma Di Mang is an exemplary village chief, taking the lead in local movements and activities and is loved by the people.
The donation of land to build a school shows Mr. Ma Di Mang’s sense of responsibility and concern for the development of local education. This not only brings long-term benefits to children in the area but also creates a better learning environment, giving them the opportunity to study and develop.
Actions like Mr. Ma Di Mang's deserve to be recognized and spread, motivating the community to join hands in developing education, building a brighter future for the younger generation.
