TASS reported that so far, 62 bodies have been identified. DNA testing is underway for the remaining victims.
Meanwhile, the Moscow health department has updated the list of injured victims in the terrorist attack at Crocus City Hall to 182 people (as of about 1:30 a.m. on March 25, Hanoi time), of which 121 people are being treated in hospital.
On the same afternoon, the Russian Investigative Committee brought charges against two men suspected of participating in the terrorist attack.
According to the announcement of the Basmanny District Court (Moscow) - the body that received the request to arrest the suspects in the case - the two subjects Rachabalizoda Saidakrami Murodali and Mirzoev Dalerjon Barotovich were charged under Part 3, Clause 'b' of Article 205 (a terrorist attack committed by a group of people, resulting in a murder), of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
Both suspects were brought to court under the escort of special forces of the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB).
Speaking to the court through an interpreter, Mirzoyev admitted: “I am a citizen of Tajikistan.” The suspect said he has three young children, does not have a stable job and his temporary residence permit expired three months ago.
The case will continue to be investigated behind closed doors to maintain secrecy and ensure safety. There are no traces of explosives or mined bodies.
During the search, Russian authorities found four military uniforms, more than 500 bullets and 28 magazines as well as two Kalashnikov rifles belonging to the attackers.
On the same day, Reuters reported that French Prime Minister Gabriel Attal announced that the government would raise the terror alert level to the highest level.
Announcing on social network X after a meeting between senior French security and defense officials and President Emmanuel Macron, Mr. Attal shared that the decision was made “after the self-proclaimed Islamic State (IS) terrorist organization admitted to carrying out the attack in Russia and the threats that are weighing on our country.”
France's terror alert system is divided into three levels, with the highest level activated after an attack occurs in France or abroad or the threat of an attack is assessed as real.
The highest alert level will allow French authorities to take extraordinary security measures, such as increased patrols by armed forces in public places, such as railway stations, airports and religious sites.
