(TN&MT) - Implementing the program of meeting voters before the regular session at the end of 2024, the 16th term City People's Council, on November 15, the Standing Committee of the Hai Phong City People's Council organized the City People's Council Delegation Groups to meet voters in districts and towns in the area.
Mr. Pham Van Lap, Chairman of Hai Phong City People's Council and some members of the City People's Council Delegation No. 8 met with voters of 18 communes of Thuy Nguyen district at the headquarters of the People's Council and People's Committee of Thuy Son commune (Thuy Nguyen district). Voters expressed concerns about issues arising when merging commune-level administrative units such as: budget allocation, personnel, public assets as well as changing documents for individuals and households.
Voters also paid much attention to traffic infrastructure, requesting the city to direct contractors to speed up the construction progress of the Lai Xuan Bridge and Road 352 renovation project to quickly resolve the current traffic congestion problem in this area; along with the 26m road in the new urban area of Bac Song Cam, the manholes without covers pose a danger to people when passing through this section of the road. In addition, voters of Kien Bai commune also made recommendations on environmental pollution issues; voters of Quang Thanh commune made recommendations on the slow handling of 149 illegal land lots...
On behalf of Delegation Group No. 8 of Hai Phong City People's Council, Mr. Pham Van Lap, Chairman of the City People's Council, directly explained and clarified a number of issues according to his functions, tasks and powers, and at the same time, accepted voters' recommendations to synthesize a report at the regular meeting at the end of 2024 of the City People's Council, term XVI, term 2021-2026.
Mr. Nguyen Van Tung, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Hai Phong City People's Committee and some members of the City People's Council Delegation No. 1 met with voters at the Hong Bang District Political - Administrative Center. Accordingly, voters expressed their excitement with the results of the city's socio-economic development in 2024, and at the same time, gave opinions on the fields of investment, construction, social security, and preservation of ancient French architectural works. Voters hope that the city will pay attention to supporting the district in implementing a number of new projects, such as: the project to build a Cultural - Sports Center; investing in building an additional bridge across the Re River to connect traffic between Hong Bang District and An Duong District.
Regarding social security, voters suggested that the city should provide additional support for house renovation; voluntary social insurance for near-poor households and those who have just escaped poverty; land allocation and additional support for funeral expenses for homeless people; and the city should continue to pay attention to preserving, maintaining and promoting the architectural and historical values of French architectural works after the city's Political - Administrative Center was moved to the North Cam River Urban Area.
On behalf of the City People's Council delegates, Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Van Tung informed about the city's socio-economic highlights in 2024; informed about some contents of the 21st Session (the regular session at the end of the year) that many voters and people of the city are interested in, such as: regulations on some specific policies to support children in special circumstances, difficult circumstances, period 2025 - 2030; Regulations on specific prices for medical examination and treatment services paid by health insurance and the state budget; Project on collecting and paying rent for public housing in apartment buildings; support for emergency relocation for households using houses in old, dangerous apartment buildings and support for rent in public apartment buildings; allocation of funding sources from localities to support overcoming the consequences of natural disasters...
On the same day, November 15, Mr. Do Manh Hien, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Hai Phong City Party Committee, and some members of the City People's Council Delegation Group No. 10 met with voters at the An Lao District Cultural House. Mr. Le Anh Quan, Standing Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee, and some members of the City People's Council Delegation Group No. 13 met with voters at the headquarters of the People's Council and People's Committee of An Duong town (An Duong district)...
