Previously, on September 26, in the historical waters of Vietnam - Cambodia, Ship 265 and Ship 1144 conducted the 76th annual joint patrol according to the Regulations on joint patrol coordination and establishment of a communication channel between the Vietnam People's Navy and the Royal Cambodian Navy signed by the Commanders of the two navies on September 14, 2002.
During the patrol, the two sides performed the greeting procedure between ASEAN naval ships (Hello ASEAN); exchanged information; practiced hand flags and practiced using the Code of Conduct for Unplanned Encounters at Sea of Western Pacific Navies (CUES).
Lieutenant Colonel Le Manh Cuong, Deputy Brigade Commander of Brigade 175, commander of the Vietnam Navy patrol ship, said: In addition to implementing the contents of the Joint Patrol Coordination Regulations, through communication channels, officers and soldiers of Ship 265 and Ship 1144 have actively propagated and mobilized fishermen of the two countries to strictly comply with the laws and regulations when exploiting seafood at sea, and not to violate the sovereignty of other countries.
In addition, the two navies have organized exchange activities and given gifts at sea. Thereby, it has increased understanding and trust, contributing to maintaining security, order, peace and stability in the Vietnam - Cambodia historical waters.
