This afternoon, January 9, at Da Nang Military Port, a working delegation of Naval Region 3, 35 local focal points, agencies, organizations, clubs, businesses, individuals; 50 reporters from 35 central, military and local press agencies visited, presented gifts, and wished a happy new year to officers, soldiers and people of Con Co island district (Quang Tri) and Ly Son (Quang Ngai) on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2025. On the same morning, the Naval Region 3 Command held an incense offering ceremony at the President Ho Chi Minh shrine in Naval Region 3; met and saw off reporters from press agencies before leaving for work on the islands. Rear Admiral Nguyen Dang Tien, Secretary of the Party Committee, Political Commissar of Naval Region 3 and delegates from provinces and cities including: Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong, Quang Nam, Da Nang, Hue City, Quang Tri; organizations, units and businesses attended. Also attending from Quang Tri province was Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department Ho Dai Nam.

According to the itinerary, the delegation carried out patrolling and managing the sea area from Da Nang - Con Co; Con Co - Ly Son; Ly Son - Da Nang. At the same time, they visited and wished a Happy New Year to the officers and soldiers of Radar Station 540 on Con Co Island and Radar Station 550 on Ly Son Island, belonging to Regiment 351/Naval Region 3; visited, presented gifts and wished a Happy New Year to the Party Committee, government, people, and armed forces units on Con Co Island and Ly Son.
At Con Co and Ly Son islands, the delegation attended the flag-raising ceremony and offered incense to commemorate the heroic martyrs and the Hoang Sa fleet. In addition, officers and soldiers of Naval Region 3 implemented the program "Vietnam Navy as a support for fishermen to go offshore" with activities of giving gifts including: fire jackets, national flags, ship mooring ropes... and organizing propaganda and dissemination of laws to fishermen.

On this occasion, Naval Region 3 prepared and delivered many Tet gifts from the Ministry of National Defense, the Navy, the Regional Command and agencies and units under the Region to officers, soldiers and forces performing tasks on the two outpost islands and at sea with a total of more than 20 gifts.
At the same time, receive, transport and coordinate the giving of gifts from localities, agencies, organizations, businesses and individuals to officers and soldiers of Region 3 and soldiers and civilians on Con Co and Ly Son islands. The gifts not only have material significance but also show concern, encouragement and sharing with officers and soldiers and civilians on the important islands of the country.
Previously, on the afternoon of January 8, all goods, food, necessities, and Tet gifts from the mainland were transported onto ships with the aim of helping officers, soldiers, and people on Con Co and Ly Son islands to have a full and warm Tet.

This is a major activity of profound political and social significance, arousing the sentiments, awareness and responsibility of local Party committees, authorities and people; agencies, organizations, businesses and individuals in preserving the sacred sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland; effectively implementing the country's socio-economic development strategy, national defense and security.
Affirming the integrity of national sovereignty at sea and promoting socialization, mobilizing all resources for the sea and islands, promoting localities across the country to turn towards the sea and islands of the Fatherland.
This trip continues to affirm the solidarity and close relationship between local Party committees, authorities and people; agencies, organizations, businesses and individuals inside and outside the army; central and local press agencies with the Navy, army and people on Con Co island district, Ly Son.
At the meeting that morning, representatives of Naval Region 3 briefed on the route and some regulations to ensure security and safety for Tet greetings and work activities at units of Naval Region 3 stationed on Con Co and Ly Son islands.
At the same time, we hope that with their feelings and responsibilities, journalists will promptly and vividly reflect the lives of the military and civilians on the two islands. From there, we will spread the message of protecting the sacred sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland as well as making determined efforts to fulfill the tasks of the Navy in the new situation.
The voyage is scheduled to take place from January 9 to January 12. Colonel Pham Dinh Thanh, Deputy Political Commissar of Naval Region 3, will lead the delegation. Ship 390 - Naval Region 3 will take the delegation to the locations as planned.

Naval Region 3 was established on October 26, 1975, is a combat unit under the Navy with the mission of regularly improving training levels, combat readiness and winning battles; firmly managing and protecting the sovereignty of the sea along the length of 7 provinces and cities of the Central Coast from Deo Ngang (Quang Binh) to Cu Lao Xanh (Binh Dinh); the islands along the North Central Coast and the Hoang Sa archipelago. At the same time, it is ready to mobilize to carry out sudden missions; maintain a peaceful and stable environment at sea, and maintain friendship with countries in the region.

During the nearly 50 years of building, fighting and growing, generations of officers and soldiers in Naval Region 3 have built a glorious tradition: "Proactive, united, coordinated, mastering the sea, determined to fight, determined to win".
Summing up the 2024 Determined to Win emulation movement, Navy Region 3 was awarded the Emulation Flag by the Ministry of National Defense, 2 units were awarded the Emulation Flag of the Navy Command, 42 units were awarded the title "Determined to Win Unit", 2 collectives and 5 individuals were awarded the title of the most outstanding in the Navy.
