500 high-altitude fireworks and 150 low-altitude fireworks are the number of fireworks that Hai Phong city will launch after the end of the Art Program "Hai Phong - Light up the heritage land" held at 8:00 p.m. on May 11, at the new location: Square in front of the Political-Administrative Center in the new urban area North of Cam River, Thuy Nguyen district.
The funding for the fireworks display comes from social mobilization.
The Red Flamboyant Flower Festival - Hai Phong 2024 is organized on a city scale in conjunction with the 69th anniversary of Hai Phong Liberation Day (May 13, 1955 - May 13, 2024) and receiving the title of World Natural Heritage of Ha Long Bay - Cat Ba Archipelago from the UNESCO World Heritage Committee.
With the theme "Hai Phong - Illuminating the heritage land", the Red Flamboyant Festival is an opportunity to continue affirming the determination of the Party Committee, government and people of the port city "Courageous, determined to win" in realizing the city's development orientation in the spirit of Resolution No. 45-NQ/TW dated January 24, 2019 of the Politburo on building and developing Hai Phong city to 2030, with a vision to 2045; Resolution No. 30-NQ/TW dated November 23, 2022 of the Politburo on socio-economic development and ensuring national defense and security in the Red River Delta region to 2023, with a vision to 2045; Resolution of the 16th City Party Congress.
The Resolution emphasizes the orientation of "Developing Hai Phong into a major tourist center of the country with a focus on developing tourism infrastructure, especially tourism projects, commercial centers, high-class resorts of international stature; forming typical tourism products of the city associated with the sea, islands, historical and cultural relics" as one of the three strategic breakthroughs in the 2020-2025 term.
The festival is also an opportunity to continue affirming the role and position of Hai Phong city - the largest port city in the North, the center of the coastal plain, an important traffic hub, the main gateway to the sea of the northern provinces, playing a particularly important role in linking and developing foreign economics of the Northern and Northern key economic regions; an important role in the development pole of the Hanoi-Hai Phong-Quang Ninh economic triangle.
Hai Phong has favorable conditions for economic development, marine economy, international economic integration, and receiving scientific and technological achievements of the world.
In particular, Hai Phong is also a city with a long history and cultural depth, rich in extremely valuable tangible and intangible cultural heritages with 555 ranked relics, including 1 World Natural Heritage, 2 Special National Monuments, and 119 National Monuments./.
