Ha Tinh Provincial Police in coordination with the Provincial People's Committee plan to organize a conference to deploy the collection of DNA samples for relatives of unidentified martyrs in the province on March 24 and 25, 2025.

Currently, there are still about 500,000 unidentified martyrs nationwide, including hundreds of thousands of remains that have been buried but lack information. To solve this problem, the Ministry of Public Security has been building an integrated DNA database, and is collecting DNA samples from relatives of martyrs to serve the identification work.

The Hanoi City Police Department's Administrative Management of Social Order supported Vietnamese Heroic Mother Nguyen Thi Loc, 90 years old (Dong Hoi Commune, Dong Anh District) to verify her Citizen Identification information before taking a DNA sample on July 28.

On March 24 and 25, 2025, Ha Tinh Police coordinated with relevant units to survey and collect information about martyrs' graves as well as relatives of martyrs to prepare for collecting DNA samples.

According to the plan, DNA sample collection will be organized at four clusters in the province:

  1. Cluster 1 : Ha Tinh city, Can Loc, Thach Ha, Cam Xuyen districts. Starting from 8:00 a.m. on March 24 at the Hall of Ha Tinh City Cultural Center.
  2. Cluster 2 : Ky Anh Town, Ky Anh District. Starting from 8:00 a.m. on March 24 at the Ky Anh District People's Committee Hall.
  3. Cluster 3 : Hong Linh Town, Nghi Xuan District, Duc Tho District. Starting from 8:00 a.m. on March 25 at Duc Tho District People's Committee Hall.
  4. Cluster 4 : Huong Son, Huong Khe, Vu Quang districts. Starting from 8:00 a.m. on March 25 at the Hall of Huong Son District People's Committee.

The working group of the Ministry of Public Security will directly collect DNA samples with the support of doctors and specialized technicians. For cases where relatives of martyrs are in poor health or have difficulty traveling, the working group will visit the family to collect samples.
