In the field of broadcasting, television and electronic information, the Department of Information and Communications has actively reviewed and coordinated the handling of general electronic information sites and social networks showing signs of "newspaperization". Strengthening the assessment, promptly preventing, exposing and removing bad and toxic information that negatively impacts the community in cyberspace. Up to now, 163 video clips on Youtube and 11 articles on Facebook accounts have been reviewed and assessed. Reviewing 155 general electronic information sites of 92 units, transferring files to the Department Inspectorate for handling according to regulations on 17 general electronic information sites.
Inspection and examination work is also focused. In the first half of 2023, the Department of Information and Communications Inspectorate organized 12 planned inspections in the fields of electronic information, printing and publishing, and postal services. In addition, there were 3 large-scale inspections of prepaid mobile subscribers; 5 inspections at book distribution fairs, prepaid mobile SIM card businesses, and publishing establishments. Administrative violations were fined nearly 1.2 billion VND to 36 organizations and individuals.
Speaking at the conference, Director of the Department of Information and Communications Nguyen Viet Hung requested that the units in the department coordinate with other units to promote the propaganda of the political, economic and social tasks of the City in the press and the grassroots information system. Advise the City People's Committee and coordinate and guide the City's agencies to perform well the work of speaking, providing information to the press and handling press information.
Continue to effectively implement state management in the fields of radio, television and electronic information; disseminate information on the economic, political, cultural and social tasks of the City on the general electronic information page and social networks; effectively combat wrong views, promptly prevent, expose and remove bad and toxic information that negatively impacts the community in cyberspace.
