Kinhtedothi - On the morning of October 28, the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade held the opening ceremony of the "Week of connecting sustainable production and consumption chains for traditional craft villages in 2024; Network of linking cooperation in production and sustainable consumption in the production chain of traditional craft village products and OCOP".
The program has 133 booths and display areas, introducing products of establishments producing and trading traditional craft village products and OCOP products for tourists to visit and shop. There are activities to display and promote products; awarding establishments with sustainable production and consumption titles; organizing a signing ceremony for cooperation in green production and consumption chains.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Director of the Center for Industrial Promotion and Industrial Development Consulting (Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade) Hoang Minh Lam said that Hanoi has 47 out of 52 traditional occupations in the country. With 1,350 craft villages and villages with crafts, Hanoi now has 305 recognized craft villages and traditional craft villages in 23 districts, towns and cities.
In recent times, many craft village products of Hanoi have been exported to high-quality markets such as Japan, the US, the EU, Dubai and some Asian and Southeast Asian countries. The week of connecting production chains and sustainable consumption for traditional craft villages in 2024 is part of a series of activities under the National Action Program on Sustainable Production and Consumption for the period 2021-2030 of the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
Through the organization of the program, the Hanoi industry and trade sector preserves and promotes production, business, promotes and maintains traditional industries for sustainable and stable development. At the same time, it supports production and business establishments of traditional products, OCOP products such as embroidery, ceramics, rattan, silk, ao dai, woodworking, food processing... to improve product quality, sustainable linkages to effectively use resources, minimize waste generation, promote a circular economy and sustainable development.
“Organizing a program to connect sustainable production and consumption chains for traditional craft villages is a commitment of Hanoi City to always actively and proactively support and accompany businesses in removing difficulties and promoting production and business activities,” Mr. Lam emphasized.
The week of connecting sustainable production and consumption chains for traditional craft villages takes place from October 28 to November 3, 2024.
