Ha Nam: More than 200 delegates attend training on foreign information work on human rights

On the afternoon of December 12, the People's Committee of Ha Nam province organized a training conference on external information work on human rights in 2024 in the form of direct and online from the conference hall of the Provincial People's Committee to districts, towns and cities with the participation of more than 200 delegates.

Speaking at the conference, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ha Nam province, Head of the Steering Committee for Human Rights of Ha Nam province, Mr. Tran Xuan Duong emphasized that in recent times, the work of external information has always received the attention of the leadership and direction of the Provincial Party Committee, the unified management and operation of the Provincial People's Committee. At the same time, closely following the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws, strategies and plans for economic, cultural, social, security and defense development of the province. The work has been proactively deployed, with close and synchronous assignment and coordination, and promoting the combined strength of all levels, sectors, socio-political organizations, organizations, individuals and enterprises. Thereby, contributing to introducing and promoting the image of Ha Nam, especially its potential, strengths, outstanding political, economic, cultural and sports events, and investment attraction policies to domestic and international friends.

The Steering Committee for Human Rights of Ha Nam province has actively advised the provincial Party Committee and the provincial People's Committee to implement policies and guidelines to ensure the fight for human rights; directed departments, branches, sectors and localities to effectively implement socio-economic development programs and plans, policies on religion, land, labor, social security, especially on labor, employment, policies for women, children, meritorious people, people with disabilities, etc. Human rights propaganda work is carried out simultaneously on all three main contents. These are disseminating and educating knowledge about human rights; disseminating efforts and achievements in ensuring human rights; explaining, clarifying and refuting false and distorted information about the human rights situation in Vietnam. Thereby, promptly and fully reflecting the situation and results of implementing social security policies, disseminating laws to the people, etc.

The delegates listened to the Director of the Institute of Human Rights, Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Associate Professor, Dr. Tuong Duy Kien, convey the work of foreign information on human rights; combating and refuting false information on human rights in Vietnam and the work of communication on human rights in the coming time.

According to Associate Professor, Dr. Tuong Duy Kien, the viewpoint, guidelines, policies, and orientations for ensuring human rights in Vietnam are to maintain national independence, national sovereignty, and territorial integrity. This is the top priority task to ensure human rights in Vietnam, develop the economy, society, and culture; ensure social progress and justice; promote socialist democracy, ensure that all state power belongs to the people; build a rule-of-law state and a mechanism to protect human rights. This includes proactively promoting, expanding the scope, diversifying the forms and content of information and propaganda about foreign affairs as well as positive results in ensuring human rights in Vietnam in recent times; fighting against the plots and false arguments of hostile forces about the human rights situation...

Delegates discussed and shared experiences, good practices, and creativity in local communications and external information on human rights, especially building a coordination mechanism between specialized forces and agencies with the press and media; combating and refuting erroneous and hostile viewpoints; and difficulties, obstacles, and shortcomings in implementing tasks.

Through that, individuals, agencies and relevant units are clearly aware of their roles and responsibilities; equipped with knowledge and skills in foreign information on human rights. At the same time, strengthen coordination in foreign information work on human rights; limit the negative impacts of false and distorted information and arguments of hostile forces; improve the quality and effectiveness of foreign information work on human rights of agencies and units in the province.
