For nearly 3 months now, the People's Committee of Nguyen Du Ward (Ha Tinh City) has maintained sending congratulatory letters when citizens come to register their marriages, make birth certificates for their children, and send condolence letters to families whose relatives have just passed away.

Not long ago, Ms. Nguyen Ngoc Thao Nhi, from residential group 4, and her fiancé went to the People's Committee of Nguyen Du Ward to register their marriage. After completing all the procedures, the Chairman of the People's Committee of the Ward gave her and her husband a congratulatory letter and shared their joy with the family's happiness. Ms. Thao Nhi said: "My husband and I came to register our marriage and were very surprised when the ward leader gave us a congratulatory letter. I am happy because the important event of my life has received the attention of the local government. The ward has not only created a friendly and close relationship between the government and the people, but also reminded us of our responsibility to build a happy marriage and family, joining hands for a civilized and developed city."

Ms. Thao Nhi and her husband were very surprised and touched when they received a congratulatory letter from the Ward People's Committee on their big day.

Like Ms. Thao Nhi, Mr. Truong Cong Hoa (resident group 2) was very surprised and happy when he was the first person to receive a congratulatory letter from the Ward People's Committee to welcome a new member to his family. "When I went to the Ward People's Committee to register the birth of my child according to regulations, I received a congratulatory letter. The letter was printed on very formal colored paper, the content fully showing the names of the couple and their newborn son along with good wishes. I was very touched by the joy of my family receiving blessings from the place where I live and also the welcome of the new citizen of the ward" - Mr. Hoa confided.

The model of sending letters to citizens was piloted by the People's Committee of Nguyen Du Ward from August 2023. Depending on the specific case, when citizens residing in the area come to the People's Committee of the ward to register their marriage or birth, the People's Committee of the ward will send a congratulatory letter; for families with deceased relatives, the ward will send a condolence letter. At the same time, send an apology letter when not promptly handling administrative work of people and organizations coming to contact; send a thank you letter to organizations and individuals who have contributed ideas to participate in government building or provide and promptly reflect important information to the government...

The content of the letters is brief and intimate, showing the government's concern and friendliness towards the people.

Mr. Duong Dinh Phuc - Chairman of the Ward People's Committee said: "This is the period when the whole city is focusing on successfully implementing the goals of the Resolution of the Party Congress for the 2020-2025 term, building a smart, modern city, striving to become one of the central urban areas of the North Central region. With the position of a central ward, along with upgrading infrastructure and urban appearance, the ward always puts the task of consolidating and creating breakthroughs in administrative work as the focus. The model of sending thank you, apology/congratulation, and condolence letters is part of the plan to implement "Friendly Government for the People to Serve" of the ward. The main goal is to create closeness, friendliness and take the satisfaction of the people to serve. From there, promote change, enhance the responsibility of Party committees, authorities, and State agencies in administrative reform; towards serving the people, contributing to strengthening the people's trust in the local government; as a foundation to arouse the strength of the entire people in the task of "Building a model civilized ward and a civilized, modern city".

The Ward People's Committee headquarters is being repaired and upgraded to increasingly meet working conditions and serve the people.

Along with the letter-sending model, the implementation plan of "Friendly Government for the People to Serve" in Nguyen Du ward also includes many other contents such as: handling administrative procedures correctly and before the deadline; implementing well the "office smile", regulations on civility and office culture; leaders receiving and dialogue with citizens; building the slogan "5 know" (know how to listen to people, know how to speak so that people understand, know how to make people trust, know how to apologize, know how to thank) and "3 show" (respect, civilization, closeness)...
