Attending the program were Party Central Committee member, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, President of the Vietnam Journalists Association Le Quoc Minh; Alternate Party Central Committee member, Editor-in-Chief of Communist Magazine Le Hai Binh; and representatives of leaders of relevant departments, ministries and branches.
The 2024 Gratitude Art Program uses a variety of performing arts forms combining music, dance, poetry, drama, etc. with modern stage techniques to convey the meaningful message of the Vu Lan season of filial piety.

General Director Mai Thanh Tung emphasized that this is the most elaborate and grandly invested and organized program ever. With the participation of famous singers, artists, dance troupes and children with songs about family affection, contributing to preserving humane values in Vietnamese traditions: "Drinking water, remember the source", "Eating fruit, remember the person who planted the tree", "Grateful for birth 2024" promises to continue to be a touching and profound night of art in a solemn and sophisticated space.
Using music to praise the immense merit of parents and predecessors, and remind the younger generation of their responsibilities, the program uses unique performing arts forms that combine a variety of music, dance, poetry, drama, etc. with modern stage techniques to convey meaningful messages during the Vu Lan season of filial piety.
With a duration of about 120 minutes, the program connects viewers' emotional circuits in three parts.
The opening part is the poetry and dance scene “A Life of Carrying a Shoulder” directed by Mai Thanh Tung, with commentary by People’s Artist Le Chuc and the song “The Way Home” performed by singer Ai Phuong, Oscar Dance Group, Lavender Dance Group. Sao Tuoi Tho Club, brings the audience to a space filled with love for the homeland, family affection, gratitude for giving birth, the morality of “When drinking water, remember the source”, “When eating fruit, remember the person who planted the tree”.
Part 2 of the program brings emotional documentary footage, recording the journey of gratitude and filial piety that the Organizing Committee has persistently carried out over the past time. Within the framework of the program, Tuoi Tre Thu Do Newspaper cooperated with Oscar Media to carry out a series of charity activities, visit and give gifts to Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, lonely elderly people, policy beneficiaries... in Hanoi, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh...
These activities have contributed to spreading the beauty of Vu Lan season, thereby fostering patriotism, national pride, and arousing a strong desire for peace in each person's heart to rise up and contribute to the Fatherland through practical actions.
At the program, the Organizing Committee coordinated with philanthropists to present 30 gifts and scholarships to students in difficult circumstances who have made efforts to become exemplary filial children of Hanoi in 2024, encouraging them to firmly step into the future with the care and love of society.
Part three of the program strongly spreads the message of gratitude through the language of music and art in a three-chapter structure: "Beloved Old Days" - "Father's Love and Mother's Love" - "Prayer".
Chapter 1 - "Beloved Old Days" brings viewers back to warm childhood memories in the arms of grandparents and parents, reminiscing about childhood years with family, through the songs: Lullaby, Mother loves child, My father, Father and daughter, It's time for dinner.
Chapter 2 - "Father's love and mother's love" reminds everyone of filial piety with the songs Mother's dream, Lullaby for children, Dad is old, right?, Come visit mother, Please rest assured, mother.
In particular, the exchange with representatives of Team Lee - a group of young people using modern technology to restore hundreds of portraits of martyrs for free; and a group of young people with the project "Hanoi joins hands", bringing 0-dong shelters to homeless people in Hanoi, created emotional and touching moments, affirming and arousing the hearts and responsibilities of young people towards society.
In chapter 3 - "Prayer", the artists of the Youth Theater bring the play "Father and Son", conveying the message about the duties and responsibilities of children towards their parents.
Participating in this year's program are singers Ho Quynh Huong, Luu Huong Giang, Vu Thang Loi, Minh Quan, Randy, Ai Phuong, Quach Mai Thy, Tuan Ngoc, Ngoc Khanh Chi, Le Anh, Le Trang, Thai Son and Chuong Gio Group... with performances filled with emotions.
The program ended with the songs Sorry Mom, Waiting for Dad's News, Meeting Mom in a Dream, and Gratitude for Parents performed by singers Randy, Ngoc Khanh Chi, Le Anh, Le Trang... conveying the prayers of children wishing to always be with and fulfill their filial piety to their parents.
Although we know that filial piety is a constant in every Vietnamese person, Vu Lan lunar month is the time when we, no matter where we are, turn to our grandparents and parents. With the music night "Grateful for Parents", we hope that everyone who is busy with the busy life out there will have moments to slow down, listen to their hearts, and think more about the nurturing grace of their parents./.
