On January 13, Tuoi Tre Online noted that at some stores selling OCOP products (One Commune One Product, each commune has one product) in Rach Gia City, Kien Giang Province, people were busy choosing dried shrimp, dried fish, soursop tea, traditional Phu Quoc fish sauce, organic rice and ST25 rice bags grown on An Bien shrimp-rice land to wrap into eye-catching gift baskets to sell on the market for the Lunar New Year of At Ty 2025.
According to Mr. Ngo Thanh Khuong, owner of a facility selling ST25 rice grown on shrimp-rice land in Kien Giang, to prepare high-quality rice for sale during Tet, Mr. Khuong has cooperated with people in An Bien district to grow about 2,000 hectares of ST25 rice on shrimp-rice land.
Right now, he has prepared about 500 tons of ST25 rice to sell at about 35,000 VND/kg, an increase of 5,000 VND/kg compared to the same period last year.
“As Tet approaches, the rice market is not as expected. Because our ST25 rice products grown on shrimp-rice land are mainly used as gifts for Tet, they are quite stable. So far, we have sold about 80% and expect to sell out by the 20th of Tet,” Mr. Khuong added.

“The products that people make are delicious and safe. Tet gift baskets are OCOP products that we sell at a stable price, ranging from 400,000 - 2 million VND/basket/value of goods, so customers can easily choose to buy them as Tet gifts,” said Mr. Tran Thanh Thao - owner of a store selling OCOP products in Kien Giang.
Kien Giang currently has 279 OCOP products, including: Phu Quoc traditional fish sauce, ST25 rice grown in shrimp-rice growing areas, dried shrimp, dried fish, soursop tea, fish sauce...
“Using OCOP products as Tet gift baskets is a good idea. The gifts are not only luxurious and suitable for customers’ tastes, but also help rural people develop their economy and stabilize their lives,” Mr. Do Tran Thinh, Chairman of the Farmers’ Association of Kien Giang province, emphasized.
