And the Truong Sa and Hoang Sa islands at the front line of the Fatherland are places that bear the heroic historical imprints of our ancestors, places that contain many wonderful natural beauties that not everyone has the opportunity to enjoy and explore. Books about the islands will take young readers to visit the "land of waves and wind".

The first island discovery tour that children cannot miss is the book "Let's learn about Hoang Sa - Truong Sa" by authors Nguyen Nhu Mai, Nguyen Quoc Tin, Nguyen Huy Thang.

The book is like an express train traveling through space, taking young readers to visit islands and archipelagos in Vietnam's sovereign waters.

Including 3 parts: "Our Fatherland's vast sea", "Turn over the history pages left by our ancestors", "Preserving the sea and sky of our homeland", the book helps readers go back in time to learn how their ancestors mastered and exploited the sea and islands, so that they can feel more proud and grateful for the contributions of many generations of Vietnamese people who have created and preserved the country.

If you have ever wondered: “Where is Truong Sa?/ I have never seen it before/ Looking at the map of the country/ Waves rolling far from shore”, you can find the answer in the poetry collection “Heart of the Island” by poet Ho Huy Son, which was released not long ago.

There, the author drew a “poetic map” so that the children would know that: “Truong Sa is in the middle of the ocean/ But it’s not too far away/ It’s still our Fatherland!” (“That place is Truong Sa”), so that the children would see that Truong Sa archipelago not only has “square banyan trees with pretty little buds”, “snail shells forming strange flowers”, “sandbanks that know how to run every season” and “navy soldiers guarding the sea day and night”, but also has classes, schools, teachers, and children “With each step to class/ The sound of waves gently lifts/ The national flag follows/ Singing at the milestone” (“Going to school”).

Those familiar, dear images will help young readers clearly feel "Not far away, Truong Sa", so that the seeds of love for the homeland's sea and islands will be planted, take root and grow day by day in the hearts of each child.

Writer Nguyen Xuan Thuy shared: “During the Nguyen Dynasty, to go to Truong Sa, the time had to be calculated in months and years, later it was much shorter. Now you can go to many places in Vietnam very conveniently and quickly, only one special area remains, Truong Sa, which is still geographically distant. But Truong Sa is sacred in the hearts of every Vietnamese person and becomes closer because the story of Truong Sa, the inspiration of Truong Sa has been told through generations in many songs, poems, and literary pages”.

Writer Nguyen Xuan Thuy also sent his love for the sea and islands to readers through the work "I Tell You the Story of Truong Sa", the book was awarded the 2012 Good Book Award by the Vietnam Publishing Association.

As a former island soldier who spent many years attached to Truong Sa, the stories told by writer Nguyen Xuan Thuy are both fascinating and interesting about the wind-blown trees, storms, dolphins, flying fish... and touching and proud of the heroic and tragic stories, the heroic and brave examples, and the losses and sacrifices of the previous generations in the cause of protecting and preserving the sacred archipelago of the Fatherland.

Opening up the fascinating adventure to the sea and islands are two works "Hai Au Di Di Cha" by author Tran Thu Hang and "Ca Nong Chu Du Truong Sa" by writer Bui Tieu Quyen.

The two books take readers on a journey to explore the sea and islands with surprising and interesting situations and characters such as Len, Lin, and Ca Nong. Through each page of the book, the majestic scenery of the sky and sea, of floating and submerged islands, of the houses built by human hands and minds... will be depicted in every detail, every part so that young readers can freely imagine and then feel, learn, and be filled with love for their homeland's sea and islands.

Besides the poetic and musical pages, the photo book “Truong Sa, where we come from” by journalist Nguyen My Tra tells children stories about Truong Sa in the most intuitive way.

Compiling about 150 photos, author Nguyen My Tra recreates the pure and magnificent beauty of Truong Sa through many moments, from a storm to a rainbow, from a sky through a window to a sprout reaching out to the light or a flickering rain in the distance that the island soldiers still wait for to be able to catch a drop of fresh water...

To capture each moment is not easy when the ship is drifting at sea, when the author has to face seasickness, sunstroke, when many times just a strong wind can make the ship shake violently, the camera and the photographer can fall into the sea at any time...

The book "Truong Sa, where we come from", therefore, is not simply images of landscapes and nature, but also real emotional slices of the lives of soldiers and civilians on the remote island.
