Phu Xuyen: Linking cultural and social development with new rural construction

According to the report, thanks to the strong direction of Party committees and authorities at all levels and the participation of the entire political system, Phu Xuyen district has had many clear changes in the fields of culture, education, health, social security and human development. Propaganda work and creating social consensus have been focused on, contributing to maintaining political security and social order and safety in the area.

The movement “All people unite to build a cultural life” continues to spread strongly; grassroots cultural institutions are invested in upgrading and operating effectively; the work of preserving and restoring historical relics and festivals is of interest. Notably, the contest “Keeping villages, residential areas, and residential groups bright - green - clean - beautiful - safe” has become a widespread movement, contributing to the construction of advanced, exemplary new rural areas.

In the field of education, the district has focused resources on investing in building schools that meet national standards. To date, 73/86 public schools have met national standards. Health insurance coverage has reached 95% and the district has no more poor households.

Within the framework of the conference, Phu Xuyen district awarded prizes for a video contest introducing and promoting the history, culture, people, craft village products and local tourism. This contest aims to promote the image of Phu Xuyen - a land rich in cultural and historical traditions, possessing many unique craft villages and potential for sustainable tourism development.

The contest received positive responses from departments, agencies, organizations, communes, towns, schools as well as many individuals inside and outside the district. A total of 1,237 entries were submitted, of which 337 videos were eligible to be posted on the fanpage “Phu Xuyen Craft Village”, reflecting the scale and strong influence of this activity.

As a result, the Organizing Committee awarded 47 main prizes: 20 collective prizes (including 01 Special prize, 01 First prize, 2 Second prizes, 5 Third prizes and 11 Encouragement prizes), 20 individual prizes (including 01 Special prize, 01 First prize, 2 Second prizes, 5 Third prizes and 11 Encouragement prizes), 07 secondary prizes for works with high interaction and the youngest contestants.

Speaking at the conference, Chairman of Phu Xuyen District People's Committee Le Van Binh emphasized that the results achieved in the past time are a testament to the efforts and determination of the entire political system and people in the district. However, there are still some shortcomings and limitations that need to be overcome. Towards the new era - the era of national development, the district identifies the task of developing culture and society, improving the quality of human resources, ensuring social security and welfare as the central focus throughout, which needs to be carried out continuously and unceasingly.

The Chairman of Phu Xuyen District People's Committee requested all levels and sectors to continue to promote their leadership role, linking cultural and social development with the construction of advanced and exemplary new rural areas; focusing on bringing cultural, educational and tourism elements into the district's development plans. At the same time, promote digital transformation in all fields, promote the historical values, people and craft villages of Phu Xuyen to domestic and foreign friends, contributing to building a civilized, modern and cultural capital. Effectively implement the goals of health, education, environment, sustainable poverty reduction (striving to reduce at least 254 near-poor households out of a total of 772 existing households by 2025); strengthen the dissemination of civilized lifestyles, replicate civilized wedding models, progressive funerals, build a bright - green - clean - beautiful environment...

At the conference, Phu Xuyen district awarded many collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in Program No. 04-CTr/HU of the District Party Committee.
