The 5th Northern Regional Karate National Championship

On March 2, the Provincial People's Committee coordinated with the Department of Physical Training and Sports (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) to organize the opening ceremony of the 5th Northern Regional Karate National Championship in 2025.

The Organizing Committee presented souvenir flags to the delegations participating in the tournament.

Overview of the tournament opening ceremony

This is the second time Dien Bien has hosted the Northern Karate National Championship. This year's tournament has 16 delegations with over 300 officials, coaches and athletes. The athletes compete for 76 sets of medals in the Kata and Kumite (doubles) categories for men and women. The tournament brings together most of the best Karate athletes from the provinces and cities in the Northern region, along with the two teams of the People's Army and the People's Police. At the same time, the tournament has many athletes from the national team who have participated and achieved high results in regional, continental and world tournaments.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the tournament, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vu A Bang affirmed that this is an opportunity for athletes to exchange, learn and share experiences; at the same time, strengthen solidarity, contributing to further promoting the development of Karate in Vietnam. Through the tournament, it is a basis for discovering and selecting excellent young athletes to prepare the next generation for the national Karate team. This tournament promises to bring the audience many dramatic and attractive matches, many beautiful performances and is also a good opportunity to contribute to promoting our Karate movement to develop more and more strongly.

On this occasion, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee hopes that the delegates, the Organizing Committee, referees, and members of the participating delegations will arrange a reasonable time to pay tribute to the heroic martyrs, visit historical sites, scenic spots, and enjoy traditional cultural, artistic, and culinary forms of the ethnic groups... Hopefully, the heroic land of Dien Bien Phu will leave behind beautiful images and feelings.
