(NADS) - With the desire to learn about traditional values and express love for national culture, on the evening of April 13, at Trong Dong Palace (Hanoi), a group of young students from the Faculty of Writing and Journalism - Hanoi University of Culture made an effort to organize the cultural and artistic event "36 features of the Lord: Decoding the costumes of Hau Dong performance", with the participation of many famous guests in the field of Vietnamese culture.
Attending the program were speakers: Cultural Artist Nguyen Duc Hien, Member of the Scientific Council - Vietnam Institute of Cultural and Religious Studies, Lecturer of the Faculty of Fine Arts Design, Hanoi University of Architecture; designer Linh Thao, Lecturer of Hanoi University of Social Sciences and Humanities; MC Trinh Le Anh; Mr. Phuc Tue; Director of QTA Art Center...
“36 features of Him” is an art performance program combining a talk show and a fashion show with the aim of helping people better understand the nation’s original religion; honoring the cultural characteristics in costumes used to practice the Mother Goddess worship; sharing the hidden meanings through colors and patterns on the Chau scarves and royal dresses. At the same time, the program also mentions the creation of Hau Dong costumes according to the changing trends of the times as well as the direction of preserving and promoting traditional cultural values of the nation in today’s modern context.
And the special point that cannot be ignored in the program "36 features of Him" is the appearance of 36 costumes from Traditional Costumes Shop Lynh, made by Linh Thao - the leading designer in Hau Dong costumes. The collection of cultural costumes brought to the stage this time has given the audience an overview of the image of the turban and royal dress in the Mother Goddess worship, depicting the typical traditional beauty, both majestic and generous but still gentle and joyful.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Ngo Van Phong - Lecturer of the Faculty of Writing and Journalism - Hanoi University of Culture shared: “Today is the first time I have seen Hau Dong costumes. As an audience member, I only see that these costumes are really beautiful. This made a great impression on me, making me want to follow the program and gradually understand more about some basic things about Hau Dong culture.”
Despite undertaking a rather sensitive topic and starting completely from zero, students of Hanoi University of Culture still carry within them the enthusiasm of youth and the tireless efforts with the desire to preserve and develop national cultural values, respect and say no to practicing beliefs outside the spiritual space. The program "36 features of Him" brought the audience a space to perform the art of singing Chau Van, exchange meanings and admire the beauty of 36 extremely eye-catching Hau Dong costumes.
