The price of RON 95 gasoline in today's adjustment period (February 6) was adjusted down for the third consecutive time, down to below VND21,000/liter. Meanwhile, the price of E5 RON 92 gasoline increased to VND20,440/liter.
Based on the direction of the Ministry of Industry and Trade - Ministry of Finance, petroleum businesses will simultaneously adjust petroleum prices from 3:00 p.m. today.
Compared to the previous operating period, in today's operating period, the price of RON 95 gasoline (common type on the market) decreased by 80 VND/liter, the selling price is 20,920 VND/liter.
The price of E5 gasoline was adjusted up by 50 VND/liter, the selling price is at 20,440 VND/liter.
While diesel price was adjusted down by 190 VND/liter, selling price is at 19,050 VND/liter.

Like previous operating periods, in today's operating period, the Ministry of Industry and Trade - Ministry of Finance did not draw from or spend from the Price Stabilization Fund for petroleum products.
In the most recent adjustment period (February 1), the prices of all types of gasoline and oil were adjusted down.
Of which, the price of E5 gasoline was adjusted down by 200 VND/liter, to 20,390 VND/liter. The price of RON 95 gasoline also decreased by 140 VND/liter, selling price is 21,000 VND/liter.
Similarly, diesel price was adjusted down to 950 VND/liter, selling price to 19,240 VND/liter.
Regarding the petroleum market, according to data from the General Department of Customs, in the first half of January this year, Vietnam spent 284 million USD to import 398,193 tons of petroleum, up 53.9% in volume and 37.6% in value compared to the same period last year.
In 2024, Vietnam's imports of petroleum products will increase sharply. In general, in 2024, in the group of raw fuel products including coal of all kinds, crude oil, gasoline and liquefied petroleum gas, Vietnam imported up to 90.8 million tons, an increase of more than 21% compared to 2023 (equivalent to an increase of nearly 16 million tons). Of which, imports of crude oil of all kinds reached 13.44 million tons, an increase of nearly 25%.
In terms of markets, in 2024, Vietnam will import petroleum from 6 main markets. Of which, South Korea is the largest petroleum import market from Vietnam last year with 3.19 million tons, worth 2.33 billion USD, down 18.5% in volume and 27.5% in value compared to 2023.
In 2024, Vietnam will also spend 871 million USD to import 1.1 million tons of gasoline from the Chinese market, up 2.7% in value and 15% in volume compared to 2023.
In addition, last year, Vietnam also imported a large amount of gasoline from Singapore with 2.9 million tons, an increase of 33.4% compared to 2023.
