World oil prices today
World oil prices closed the weekend session on August 19 (Vietnam time) down across the board. WTI crude oil was at $75.42/barrel, down $0.12/barrel, or 0.16%. WTI crude oil closed the previous trading session at $75.54/barrel and opened today's session at $75.58/barrel.
Brent crude oil was at $79.59 a barrel, down $0.09 a barrel, or 0.11 percent. Brent crude oil closed the previous session at $79.68 a barrel and opened today at $79.63 a barrel.
According to analysts, if the situation in the Middle East does not escalate further, oil prices are likely to move sideways, or not establish a clear direction until the US Federal Reserve (Fed) decides whether to lower interest rates at its meeting next September.
Domestic gasoline prices today
On August 19, retail gasoline prices according to the price list announced by Petrolimex in regions 1 and 2 (46 provinces and cities currently applying) are as follows:
The above domestic retail prices of gasoline and oil were adjusted by the Ministry of Finance - Industry and Trade in the price management session on the afternoon of August 15. Accordingly, the price of fuel oil increased the most, 217 VND/kg. Diesel oil increased the least, 89 VND/liter. The two gasoline products E5 RON 92 and RON 95-III increased by 167 VND/liter and 179 VND/liter, respectively. Kerosene also increased by 161 VND/liter.
Gasoline discount today
Discount prices of petroleum products today, August 19, at some domestic petroleum dealers are as follows:
Pvoil applies discount rates on August 19: Oil discount 1,550 VND/liter; RON 95 - III gasoline: 1,500 VND/liter; E5 gasoline: 1,250 VND/liter. This discount rate is applied at Pvoil Dinh Vu warehouse, Petec An Hai, Cai Lan warehouse.
Tu Luc Petroleum discounts on August 19 as follows: Oil discount: 1,500 VND/liter; RON 95 - III gasoline: 1,450 VND/liter; E5 gasoline: 1,200 VND/liter.
MIPEC gasoline discount on August 19: 95-III gasoline: 1,200; E5 gasoline: 1,000; oil: 1,600 VND/liter.
Forecast of domestic gasoline prices next period
According to a representative of a petroleum business, domestic petroleum prices will fluctuate according to the world petroleum situation. It is forecasted that in the next price adjustment period, petroleum prices may be adjusted downward. Of which, gasoline may decrease by 200 - 300 VND/liter; oil may decrease by less than 100 VND/liter.
Since the beginning of the year, since the price adjustment session on January 4, gasoline prices have increased 17 times and decreased 15 times. Oil prices have increased 16 times and decreased 16 times.
